Writing reports!

Hi fellow bros,

I just want to share my feelings with you all at this point, and would be very grateful if any of you had some point in yourtime whilst writing a report had experienced this emotion.

What happened was, I was writing a report on a WG, on my iPad, because I can't write reports at home because my misses is around and for other obvious reasons, I thought I will sit nicely in starbucks and write my latest report.

After spending a good 45 minutes on writing and proof reading, making sure all the spelling mistakes and correct information were given, before I hit the post button I had accidentally touched a part of the iPad which caused me to open another link in the same window I was writing on, and my first reaction was @£&!#%^{}%!

Praying to god whilst hitting the back button hoping everything was still there, instead everything was blank bar the subject!

I shall, now write the report a bit later, I was so mad I thought I'd share as I wondered if any other bros had done something similar, I hope so because it would make me feel better!

True

Happened to me on my second report in Shueng Shui, years back. Since then I tend to ctrl+A and ctrl+c everything so should the worse happens I can re-paste the whole thing. Subsequently Ive been doing this on other activities such as large reports (work or University related) through email. Works like a treat too if you needed to quickly close the page incase gf/partner quickly walked in. lol

Or write in a text editor that will retain the text even if you exit

on a PC I often use notepad if I want to put a longer text in a browser-based window

Very useful tips here bros! I'd look into it.

Just that the trouble with me is that my missusnuses my home Pc a lot! And i get very worried if I leave traces of my hidden desires lying around hahaha..

It's only me and the iPad, how I wish that the iPad will come with a pull out keyboard.

Maybe an autosave feature every 3 minutes ...

But that feeling when you are one button away from posting and shit like the above happens... FML

You do realize there are plenty of keyboards for ipads? For example http://www.logitech.com/tablet-accessories/for-ipad/devices/8214

Like bro DArtagnan said, I have a template of my report in .txt format so I compose my report by notepad and then copy and paste everything back in the window. It also can make sure you don't miss anything in the report.

I was aware, but I'm quiet lazy when it comes to me taking another item out, as the iPad gets in my way sometimes already haha

Seems nice and useful though for home use... Do you use one yourself?

the apple keyboard doesn't require batteries, as it takes the power from the iPad itself. I have it connected to the power supply though as it recharges the iPad when you do so. Don't see what it has to do with Chinese?

I've had a browser crash while writing a 141 posting, and when I restarted the half written post was still there.  Possibly it is a feature of google chrome?  I'm not an iPad person, but if an autosaving text editor is not available, try writing it in a gmail compose window.  It will auto save what you are writing as a draft.

Just remember to delete the draft when you are done.

Bro, I know what you're talking about. this is what i usually do. Either will be the same:

1. Type your report in the Notes app on your ipad. You can save it every couple of mins or so. Once you are ready to post, copy and paste the whole she-bang.
2. Use the email app. Basically same as using it as Notes.

For the email, I would recommend downloading the Gmail app and setting up a fake account just for posting. You don't want to use the real email app lest you accidentally send out your report to your wife or something...

Also, don't forget to delete delete delete everything once you've posted. Can never be too careful for this!
