I have been wanting to share pictures with you guy, but everytiime that I try to upload them, it says file too big?!?  This happens even when I only want to include one picture that is 1.7mb in size...I don't know what I'm doing wrong...am open to any suggestions.  Sorry to be so much trouble.  I have really enjoyed this site, and would like to contribute...feel pretty dumb.

Bro, another problem may be your file format. The best way to share the pic is to open it up, the take a screen shot of it, paste it in paint and save it as .jpg. This will ensure you dont loose picture quality upon resizing.

For Nookie Newbies, maximum daily allowance for uploads is 512 KB, with maximum individual file size of 256 KB. This means you can upload only 2 files if they are each 256 KB in size. Smaller file sizes means more pics in a day. The file formats you can upload are gif, jpg, jpeg, and png.

All the info is here: http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/member.php?action=grouppermission

Guys, thanks for the advice and information.  I'm new to all of this!  I'll try what you have suggested.  Believe it or not, I have never posted a picture until now!  The two picture that I did upload were both low resolution ones that were below the file size..all of my other photos are 1.8 mb and up.  I hope to share more with you, if I figure this out.

I guess I'm a nerd, or a closet techie or something, because this is the funniest thread I've read today.  From the 'screen shot' to 'preserve resolution' to DA's 'just how the fuck old are you?' comment to TFhalfJP thinking the ratings were his . . .

Anyway, those who take and post pictures are best of contributors to this forum and I don't mean to be laughing AT anyone.  Tfhalfjp your efforts in figuring out the pic thing are to be applauded.

I didn't do it.  Really I didn't.

You should download and install an image resizer software. You can find some here assuming you're on Windows.

You can try this one Mihov Image resizer, he's pretty easy to use (and of course, it's free).

1) Click on the link above and download the software. It'll be really fast as it's only 363kb.
2) Once it's downloaded, find it on your hard drive and install it. I'm sure you can do that, even at 56 yo !
3) Follow the steps (and don't forget to uncheck "install the babylon toolbar".
4) Once installed, the soft will open itself automatically.
5) Locate the pic you want to resize with the boxes on the left. If the pic is in the "special" Windows folder (ie the folder like My documents or My pictures), click on the file menu (top left) and select special folder -> My pictures (for example). Then, use the bow on the left to select the right folder and then the right pic.
6) On the right, you have a box with a lot of tabs. Assuming your pic is already in .jpg (that's the case for me when I take a picture with my camera) click on the "JPG" tab.
7) Defaults options are "better quality" and "pixels 800". You can try leave them that way. Click on "resize" (bottom right), and it's done.
8) You now have a second file called "mini-thenameofyourpreviousfile.jpg". This file should be a lot more smaller but still ok quality to post here.

I did that exactly with a 2101ko pic, and the "mini-pic" was 67ko.

Try this, even if it doesn't seems "user friendly" it's easy to use and very efficient.

Try this with any of the paint program that comes with most computers. This is C + P from my other post.

Just use any picture editing program, like paint for example. Go to Resize, first select 50%, keep the box checked for Maintain Aspect Ratio, it will reduce the photo by 50%. If it is still too big, reduce it by a further 50%, if you have gone too much, you can always undo the last action by clicking Ctrl Z, and then redo it with say 20% or 30% reduction. Just trial and error. Once you are satisfied with the size, save it as a JPG, it will reduce the file size of the photo from the Mb to Kb, sometime as small as 50Kb. and it makes uploading much faster.

use the products from Microsoft.  Namely the Resizer Powertoy.  The advantge of this is that the install lets you resize the picture right within File Explorer by right-clicking on the picture, and choosing Resize Pictures. No need to use any of the third-party productis and clutter up your programs as mentioned above.

For Windows XP:  http://download.cnet.com/Image-R ... 487_4-10905400.html
For Windows 7 and Vista:  http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/    (not made by Microsoft but works exactly like the Windows XP version)
