Just a-wondering - why are some places (Tai Koo, Quarry Bay) completely off the radar for 141s? Cause otherwise the HK-side 141 looks much like the MTR line, it's just those 'stations' have obvious 141 gaps. Is it just because those places are too residential, or is there any other reason?

Tai Koo Shing is just too expensive for 141's, there are no
old buildings in that area.
There were one or two 141 girls in Quarry Bay but that was more then
a year ago. I would not be surprised if there are still 141 type girls there
but of lower quality and do their ads in newspapers or mags.

You need a concentration of girls in one area to make it worth while going ...

Mainly though, I believe they are used for affairs. Total discretion etc. Bruce Lee's old home is now one of these love hotels.

Nah. A number of years ago, when I first started using Kowloon Tong love hotels for my affairs - proper hotels were getting to be too
expensive - I checked out Bruce Lee's old home. But it wasn't a love hotel, it was one of those studios for wedding photographs.

I am impressed with the secrecy of these places. Drove up into one, immediately was hushed into a parking spot that had a trampoline, this immediately surrounded my car, got out of my car and there was a door to the side which opened automatically, went in and the lady came into the room, took the money and dissappeared. The complete speed and the anonymity of this was amazing and impressive. Realised that one can even stay there overnight, works out cheaper than a 5star hotel

Note - ALL motels in Kowloon Tong are located on the left hand side of Waterloo Rd as you head
towards Lion Rock Tunnel, there are no motels on the right side!

The quality of some of these motels range from fair to bad ...
but like Lantaubuff said, the convenience, privacy and anonymity of these places are great.
Prices range from $300 - $430 for 2 hours depending on time of day/night you go. For over night the price is $900+

The condition of the rooms depends on the motel, most are pretty old and the rooms are pretty dilapidated.
As far as I can remember there are only 2 or 3 motels there with decent rooms - similar to a 2 or 3 star hotel.

Can't remember these motel names but the best one is at the corner of To Fuk Rd and York Rd. At night its got
purple neon lights ouside and there is a large round fountain in the middle of the driveway at the entrance.

I concur with lantaubuff's description of the tarpaulin and side door system - excellent discretion. Except the one I used to go to was next to an elementary school and at certain times in the day the entrance is blocked by SUVs picking kids up and the whole area is teeming with parents who look at you and the girl you're with as you enter the place!

I used to go there a lot with a girl I met at Fuji. She worked there for only a month and didn't like it, but I continued the relationship for a year afterwards. Used to have great, free sex sessions there once every couple of weeks. Made videos and everything!

Japanese love hotels are brilliantly designed for privacy. You enter the small lobby, and there is a large screen displaying all the rooms with a picture and the price of each one available. You press a button for the desired room and proceed to the elevator. The elevator only takes one couple at a time. When you get to the room, the door is unlocked. You enter the room and get a phone call from the manager. You then insert your payment into a large capsule and then place the capsule into a pneumatic (air) tube that shoots your payment to the front desk. If there is change, it is returned to you via the tube. When you are through, you leave the room and proceed to the elevator. The elevator will not stop for you if there is someone in it, and when you are in the elevator, it will not stop for anyone else. You NEVER see any of the staff, and the only time you might meet another couple is when choosing the room from the screen in the small front lobby, and you can avoid that by calling in advance and booking a room.

Many of the rooms have video equipment for shooting your own vids.
