Where to catch a nap in Macau?

Hey dudes, Happy New Year!

I am thinking of going to Macau next week after a business trip.  I will be in need of a nap mid-afternoon to evening to recharge before the evening fun.

Where is a good place to sleep for a few hours that is clean and safe without checking into a hotel?  I see the odd mention of massage parlours allowing one to sleep for a while.  Is this common or just at certain select parlours?

I'd be most interested in one not far from Grand Lisboa.

Thanks much in advance

You can go to one of the saunas there to rest up and punt when you wake up or if you decide to leave it will just cost you the entry fee which varies from one sauna to another but usually under 500 from what I've read.

there was a thread a little while back that talked about it.  do a quick search.  There was even talk about checking in your luggage at a hotel where you're not staying so you don't have to lug your things around.

Thanks for the replies, gents.

Is it possible to stay in a sauna for several hours, leave for a few hour to go gambling and then return to the same sauna without having to repay the entry fee?

If you ask the management nicely, they will allow you to leave the sauna for a couple of hours.

Oh really? Never knew that, thanks for the heads up.  How do they determine when and who you are when you return? Do you keep the wrist tag?

Reply #8 and #9 2zzh22k20's and Wachovia68 posts

2zzh22k20 - When you're discussing with the sauna management about exiting the establishment for a couple of hours, they will take your locker key and note what time you will leave the sauna. You can leave your stuff in the sauna but I usually take my stuff with me. When you return, the locker staff will usually remember you and return your locker key. If not, just tell management about your mini-exit and your locker number.

Wachovia68 - I've only tried this at a few saunas, such as East Spa, Golden Sauna and Sanado. For other sauna establishments, I don't know if they allow this policy.

I'd say 18 Sauna is your best bet. They have awesome sleeping area. The best part is if you go during the day there won't be too many people sleeping there and therefore more quiet (less snoring).
