taxi from HK to hunggang?

Anyone know the price of a taxi from HK airport to the hungang entry?

I arrive at 11pm and all the buses from HK to shenzhen leave at 1045

That leave me the choice of staying at a HK hotel for one night then going to SZ by bus/boat in the morning

or taking a taxi to the only border crossing open past 12am , then taking a local taxi to my hotel at Landmark.

Anyone done this or have any advise?

thanks in advance guys

Pretty sure a taxi will be cheaper than a HK hotel, I'm guessing around HK$300 to HK$400.  Central to Shatin is about $200 - HKIA to the border is about double the distance.

How much is your hotel at Landmark, is it that much cheaper than HK?

You can also save by booking a car in advance, there are taxis that give a 20% discount on the meter for long-haul trips like yours.  Much better than simply walking up to the taxi rank.

My suggestion only - but I'd think you could even skip checking into any hotels that night/early evening.  Arriving in Hong Kong at 11 pm, I'd say earliest/optimsitically you'd get into your hotel would be past 2 a.m.

Why not just go to Queen spa or some other massage/saunas.  Enjoy either a veggie or naughty massage and stay overnight all for less than RMB 800.

The next morning, try to get a hotel in SZ for less than RMB 800 - there's plenty, don;t worry about it!  Unless of course if you insisit on the Landmark!!

As for the discount taxis - yes, if you've got light luggage only - otherwise its a drag to have to go to parking lot 6 to get your discounted taxi (they're only allowed there to wait for you).  I'd suggerst you just get into one of theose GREEN COLOURED New Territories taxis which is cheaper than the red taxis.

There are 24 hrs buses from Wan Chai Ferry Pier and Prince Edward/Mongkok that depart every 15 / 30 mins after midnite.

Go search.

I believe there is still buses running from HK airport to Huanggang prior to midnite.

Eternal East runs buses and limos from the airport - last one is at midnight.

same goes with Trans-Island Limousine.

If you come in after midnight, I'd suggest just getting someplace to stay in HK.
