Sorry for the newbie question.  I haven't come across any posts mentioning tipping the girls at K-Pressure or 37D.  So other than the mamasan expecting to keep the change when paying the $390 fee, is tipping the girl expected?

Not expected. All of the girls I've offered a tip for great service have refused it too.

They aren't supposed to ask for tips nor should they expect it according to the mamasan.  Everytime there is a new girl, the mamasan always asks me did she "dau fah lay?"  asking for tips?  It's a big no no here, but the girls only get 240 so another 100 to them is a lot, to me it's lunch money.  Unless they gave you terrible service or if you are shit poor, you should drop at least 100, no?

i usually tip the same (100HKD) if it is a good service no matter if they are in 8M, 37D or any high-end HG in TST.... I reckon if you are happy, you are happy the same way no matter what the mamasan or papasan charge you for the girl and tip should not be calculated as a percentage on the base price, as some other punters do....

crazily enough, i find myself tipping even if i am not totally satisfied, but i guess that is partly because i have never had a girl who did not try hard, just found girls i did not like that much, which is different and none of their fault.....

Never heard of a girl refusing a tip either.  I would imagine that no business would ever have their employee refuse a tip either.

well that's not true.... in China till few years ago it was impossible to tip any waiter/waitress!.... i still remember all the girlie-looking waitresses running after me to give me back the few RMB i left on the table in several occasions!

maybe she thought it was illegal gratification money ...

well i had a dealer refused my tip. this was at harrah's casino and i threw him a tip and he put it in the tray with all the chips, i told him no that's for you not the house money. he didn't bother taking it out and putting it in his tip box and instead gave me a dirty look. i dont know what happen but he must of been pissed about something. i told the next dealer and the next dealer was like wtf we live off tips. anyways people do weird shit for weird reasons. as for providers, i never had them refused tip although i dont give tips out much since most of them are independent and already receiving average of $250USD a session from me. if it was at a MP then i would.

I've had a few refuse tips in Angeles City in the Philippines. I go to hand them some cash and mumble something about taxi money, but they smile and say it is not necessary! It might be different there, where they have a strange view of prostitution.

refusing tips... especially hefty tips.. is not uncommon in china.
it's not they don't want the tips... they can be just shy from taking it..
they are already happy inside that you actually offering her tips..  so happy tt they are kinda embarrassed to take the extra $$$.
and of course, some girls have the mentality that refusing initial tips = better service, which = return business with even more tips!

this particular girl, i had her 3 times, all 3 times she rejected my tips.
so i top-up her mobile sim card instead. she can't reject that.

So it does happen. Don't know why they would reject a tip maybe because it's just not the norm in China or not even too much in HK for that matter.

Once the money is in the tray I seriously doubt they could take it out again and put it in the tip box because the casino would think it was stealing.  Even if you told the pit boss and they reviewed the tapes, you might be working a scam.  They are surprisingly serious about their money.

Tipping in China seems to cause more confusion than it's worth.

they dont really refuse, they say no the first time and if you insist they will take it with a happy smile. I usually give 120 when ireally get great service and this is the majority of times i give 200. Once i got poor service i gave 50hkd and left, no problem. I did not see that girl since so i hope she is doing something else

I still find that odd that they don't accept tips.  In Canada, the going rate is quite high, but if the service is excellent i will tip.

How about the opposite. Have you ever had someone give you a dirty look or nasty comment when you didn't tip or tipped too little?

In NYC they pester you for that shit, in China they NEVER expect it and in HK it's never expected but very much appreciated.  I've had a few girls at 37D reject it too, genuinely reject it like, "MMM SAI LAR!"
But I always say, "Nei Ying Duk Gar!" and always get a nice hug and kiss out of it.  These girls make nothing, at least by American standards, I don't feel a bit bad about tipping them, not because I am rich but because it really isn't much to an American.  I can understand the hardworking HK bros who really bust their asses for a few bucks, HK has such a huge gap between the high and the low, it's not even funny.  Ferarris and porsches driving by limbless old people begging (literally moving in a begging motion) is how it works in HK.  I swear I must drop like 100 bucks a week with these old people begging when I am in HK, if they weren't Chinese, like here in NYC, I give them shit.
