Well a couple of days ago a WG dropped my mongering cellphone in the bathtub, a trusty 5-megapixel nokia 6220 with carl zeiss lens and a xenon flash. It was only for a couple of seconds but enough for my faithful mongering partner to shuffle off to cellphone heaven where endless pussies and tits wait to be snapped. Rest in peace good buddy.

So I went out and got another partner, this time another carl zeiss 5-megapixel nokia but with led flash. And I have to say the results are most disappointing. The led flash is really weak and not able to provide sufficient lighting in darkened conditions for protrait shots even from as close as a meter away. Any further away and the pic is a complete washout, ruling out the critically important body shots. And now I am forced to be change partners again.

What I would appreciate from all bros here is this: based on actual experience, what would you say and recommend as the best camera cellphone for punting purposes specifically for taking pics in a darkened room. I guess a xenon flash is a must unless you believe and have pics to prove otherwise. As I've been a faithful nokia user all this while I'm thinking of the nokia n82 since the 6220 is rare these days but am open to other makes especially the sony ericsson c-series. There is an old related thread that mentions the nokia n95 and sony ericsson satio.But I dont need all the extra fluff, the smartphones, touchscreens or 3.5G or whatever. All i'm looking for is a cellphone able to faithfully deliver quality mongering pics over and over again.

And to thank useful contributors, I promise to pm them the first mongering pic I take with the new cell with no RA.

Why don't you just go buy a 2nd hand version of your old phone?  HK has a thriving market for 2nd hand phones.  How about where you are from?

I totally agree with Twice... if you're gonna get a phone cam for daily use, nothing beats the Sony Ericsson's. the iphone is good too, but no flash!

According to latest reports from MacCast, a Mac related podcasts, there may be a new iPhone 4th generation coming out as soon as the second week of June which will include a camera with flash. May be worthwhile to wait until then.

I am stll using 3.2megapixel mobile phone.

How; bout NOKIA brand, higher megapix and with touch screen preferably. 5230 model is a bit unstable.

I had an N95 a couple years back that took awesome photos for a camera. The price should be much lower nowadays as well. If i were you, i would just get an actual camera. The nicest camera phone wont be able to touch the basic point and click camera in terms of picture quality in my opinion.

I have a N95 and its still takes pretty decent pics.  but I save seen my buddies, SonyEricsson Satio, and at 12MP, its awesome.  I would highly recommend that one.

Hunter, ever heard of the Nokia N900 - it's awesome new touchscreen phone.. a bit pricey.... Great camera and high resolution screen... takesgood videos too ;-)  very internet friendly.

i dont know which is the best, but i use a iphone and it's probably the best phone i ever bought.

Wow! That's just about the best picture i've seen from a cellphone camera. But i still think even the most basic point and shoot camera will take nicer pictures than a phone camera. Plus they are so affordable nowadays and so small that you can slip them into your pocket.

I can't buy my old model anymore, its so old its not in stock anymore.

Right now its between the SE C903, Nokia N82, SE Satio and the Samsung Pixon 12. The first two are older 5 megas but affordable. The last two are newer 12 megas but bloody expensive. I would hate for some WG to drop it into the tub. 2 days left to decide...

go for the satio ... colour is better then the pixon
guys in my office have both and I've seen the results !

getting a high-end mobile with higher mega pixels camera like 8MP or 12MP with xenon flash will be good while taking clear photos...try models like Sony Erics Vivaz or X10....

I think the most important thing is the xeon flash light. It really makes a big difference when you take low light pics inside a hotel room or an 141 room.

Usually, camera phone with xeon flash are high end ones, so you usually can't go wrong with the picture quality also.
