Police Raids?

So Ive just gotten back to Hong Kong from a trip to the Expo in Shanghai, (Where I got ripped off at a club and didn't get sh*t in return for the money they basically took from me. More in a diff thread later).
and I read something about police raids recently?

Basically, what I'm curious about is, in my absence, has going out hobbying become even riskier when it comes to being raided by the cops? Or was it a one time show of force? when was this event anyway?
