was wondering if anyone has an insight on the stripbars in HK. I've searched the forum and there doesn't seem to be any threads on this.
I remember coming across an adverd for a strip joint along nathan road. However my online searches have turned up nothing. Care to share anyone?

Quite a lot of useful stuff came up when I was researching topless or other 'special' bars about a month ago just through google, blogs, photos, pricing information etc. Maybe try some different search strings.

you get them in wan chai, but i would avoid them.

I've heard those wanchai bars are expat/tourist traps, any truth in this? So besides 141 listings and the massage joints, are there any other mongering options in HK?
I don't suppose there are hooker alleys in HK like there are in SZ?

Once you get into the bar, refrain from buying any of the girls a drink. There drinks would cost 5 times more than yours and you'll end up paying thousands of HK$. Very few locals go to Wanchai bars. It's mainly expats.

There are no hooker alleys but you can find SWs in Tsimshatsui and Mongkok. Some older local ladies and young mainland Chinese.

There are no 'strip clubs/bars' that I know of in HK ...

when you and TW mention the places in Wanchai do you guys mean the Suzie Wong type of bars ?
I would be very surprised if you can go into one of these places without having to buy the girl(s) there drinks !

HK should not have strip bars as per my knowledge. what HK may have are hostess bars, like the ones in Wanchai and TST, where there are ladies who sit and drink with you, and charge you an arm and a leg for just drinking with you, or watch you drink, or make money on their drinks.

Korean one i know has a pricelist that starts at 2000 HKD for a bottle and the girl is additional - as is the service she may provide later!
Basically the Korean jacks up the bottle prices 200 to 400 HKD above the 'normal' rate in 'normal' hotel/bars

Stripbars, was wondering if there were any of them in HK as well.
All i know are the ones in Wanchai but as said, better to steer clear from them (traps)

Think we were thrown off track when roychenht mentioned 'bars in Wanchai'. Don't believe there are striptease bars in Wanchai but there was a topless bar on Hankow Road in Tsimshatsui called Bottoms UP may years ago. I went there before they closed down.

There were topless bars in HK but definately no strip bars and if my memory serves me correct its because
they are illegal

20+ yeras ago there were strip joints located on the upper floors of buildings ... dinner's club by day and members only
at night ... they're long gone now

The "Velvet Curtain" Bars in Wan Chai and also the "Red Lips" and "Bottoms Up" bars in TST are not technically "Strip" bars like we know in the West. You will be tempted to enter on the promise of very cheap drinks (ie. HK$20 for a beer etc) and beautiful girls (Some of the Wan Chai girls are hot but those in the TST bars are old enough to be your mother).

Girls will usually dance topless for you on the bar trying to coerce you into buying them drinks.

If you buy the girl drinks, she will sit on your lap, let you play with her tits, put your hand in her panties, DFK etc. All good except for 3 things:
(1) She will only stay with you while you continue buying her drinks.
(2) She drinks really FAST.
(3) Her drinks will cost HK$300 - $400... EACH!

Then... after she has extorted as much money as she can out of you for drinks, she will ask you to take her back to your hotel for a session of passionate sex. Sounds good? Think it through:
(1) To get to this stage, you will have already spent ~HK$2,000+ on drinks.
(2) She will want HK$3K+ additional for sex.

Stay away, STAY AWAY from these places. As has been well said by other Bros in numerous threads, they are a total RIP OFF!

Instead...

Spend your money on a beautiful PRC HG from the 141 data base (around HK$600 ~ $800 for almost an hour).

Go to one of these bars [CLICK HERE] and pick up a cute Fil for HK$1,000 for 2 - 3 hours, a Viet for HK$1,200 for 2 - 3 hours or 'ahem... a Mongolian for HK$1,500 over night.

Lots of GOOD choice in HK but that does NOT include those velvet curtain bars, they are a TOTAL rip off.

YIKES! I'm not old enough to have "enjoyed" that personally, however I have heard the same thing.

There is a little old lady who sits on a chair outside the one on Peking in TST inviting passers by in. Some years ago I was passing with a friend of mine, and I remarked "if she's the promo girl outside, imagine what the girls inside look like?" my friend replied "They're older..."

HK is an amazing place on so many levels.

I would recommend you go to Playmate's Club in Macau.  A stripbar just like the ones in N.America.

Man.. when I first moved to Hong Kong from Canada, I ventured into one of these "strip clubs" in TST thinking it would not be as good as the ones back home but should be decent enough. I paid way too much for a beer that was stale and even more for drinks for the chic. The place was virtually empty and I sat at a table with a Filipino lady who must've been at least 40 years old with tits that could've mopped the floor! ...  Being a naive and polite Canadian boy, I stayed there for a good 30 minutes before I made my not quite quick enough exit... spent at least a grand (this was 10 years ago and I was fresh outta school and unemployed!)!

Oh okay, so i'm guessing the topless bar tag is just to lure unsuspecting victims to spend tonnes of cash on lady drinks.

Best to avoid it then. Perhaps I'll take a quick trip over to Macau for the mentioned playmates club.

Drinking in this place is cheap!  Cheaper than drinking in Wanchai, which is great as you need to save the cash for going to the ktv/saunas afterwards.

the term strip joint to me is to have everything off.........naked!
141 dont have any dealings with the any strip joint as i believe that strip club is illegal. (correct me if i'm wrong)
the bar in wan chai, the girls still have their bras and g-string on and thats as much as you'll see.

You be better finding a hot HG girl and pay her extra to do a lap dance and strip tease for you. Much more economical.
or just go to the bars in TST and pick up some phillo girls if that what you what.
