I've been reading the reports on WG and HG, and all of them seem to be fun first, pay at the end. Only a few places like sauna's and 37D requires the "client" to pay first before getting anything.

Its somewhat different in Australia. NO matter where I have been punting in Australia the ladies always ask for the money up front, and it seems fair.

So the question I is.
   -- In Hong Kong and surrounding areas, what is the usual case when acquiring services from a WG/HG..  do you pay first or after ?

Well - not all your power, becuase they are still working for tips if you pay first.

That said, I agree that pay last is more normal.  I had a bit of a dispute with a girl in Nanjing (see my report on "Jenny" in the China section) where she insisted on payment upfront, saying it was "the rule" in Nanjing, getting me right out of the mood.

You pretty much answered your own question, but yeah pay after is common practice. I have only paid first a handful of times in hk. Needless to say, the experience was substandard, which is probably why they demanded money first.

I actually didn't know paying after the deed was protocol in HK.  Thanks for the information!  In the USA, it seems to be more of a standard to pay upfront.  I agree with the comments that this would give up any leverage, but I'm assuming that in the US it's more necessary for providers to avoid deadbeats who fuck and then duck out.

The only time I've been asked for money upfront is when extending a session w/ an HG.  the agents sometimes ask for the money to be given to the girl.  not sure why it matters, but that's the only case.  If I book a double session or whatever from the beginning, then I always pay after the deed is done.

when i paid up front in australia, i never thought twice. Gladly paid so i could have my 30 minutes of pleasure sooner rather than later. Here, in hk, it annoyed me greatly (does she think i won't pay?????), and it took a lot away from the experience .  As the old saying goes, when in rome....

The WGs do have a lot of clients who don't pay, so while paying first is annoying to the customer, it is understandable from WG's POV. Once you've shot your load, they've lost all their power to get paid.

I like to pay upfront on repeat/regular visits when there's no doubt (from experience) about service levels, just to get payment out of the way so I can enjoy the session.

In America, at least in my experience, it's ALWAYS pay first.  I find it amazing that you can pay after service in HK. I agree, better to pay first if you know the girl and let her focus on working for her tip.

at K pressure you pay the $390 first (side note: the mamasan took my 400  and didn't give me change back, *sigh* I guess I look like someone that they could rip off)  then the 110 hotel fee before the deed is done.  so there are times in HK where you pay first.  at the massage places, you pay at the end.

As stated earlier, in Australia it's always pay upfront, if you get a crap service there's really nothing you can do, no refunds. That's why I usually only use tried and proven shops. If I do get a crap service I write it up and put it out on a local and a couple of international forums, such as this.

I've only been asked once to pay upfront whilst in China, that was at the Kunming airport hotel sauna. I laughed and refused, then flashed the cash I had in my pocket to reassure the manager that I was good to pay.

in the western world, most of the time it is pay upfront. even in vegas, where they ask you to leave the money on the dresser or on the table inside the bathroom. thats why its a good idea to be a member of some of the review sites where you know which lady gives good service and which don't.

In a couple of Wanchai walkups the girls had signs up inside their room saying "pay before you play for better service", but I haven't really noticed any improvement paying upfront.

In UK it's always pay first and I have never been ripped off. Very occasionally got poor service, but that goes with the territory I guess.

I thought the reason for placing some money on the table or on the dresser instead handed directly into the wg's hands is a legal defense action if the wg turned out to be an undercover cop or cops raided the place.  Apparently it is counted as payment for prostitution if money is handed directly from punter's hands to the wg's hands.  

Can anyone clarify this?

There's no statute (that I've ever heard of) saying that from hand to hand is prostitution payment. If shit hits the fan (police bust), then it's all about how strong the evidence is against you. If you only put the money on the dresser, then if it goes to trial, you could claim it was just your money that you were keeping there, or that it was payment for the room, or whatever other excuse. If you're on video/audio handing over the cash to the prostitute, it becomes that much harder (but not impossible) to reasonably claim to the judge that you had no idea that she's a prostitute.

Actually in places like 37D, KPressure and similar places, you are actually paying "after" not "before".  The setup of those places is that you enter a place tht looks like a ktv where you meet girls who theoretically sing, drink, and play games with you.  Apparently you like the girl during your ktv session and want to leave the establishment with her.  What she wants to do with you outside the ktv is your matter, not the ktvs (37D, KPressure, etc).  What you are paying for is your bill for using their ktv facilities.  There was no sex in the premises.  

As you leave the ktv area, you learn, "what a coincidence", the managers of the ktv know a friend who has a cheap hotel room for rent that is in the same building.   You don't have to go out on the streets to find a hourly hotel room and go through the usual hassles of finding a cheap enough place, giving id at registration, walking outside with girl where friends/family may see you, etc.  

So you take up the ktv manager's offer and stay at their friend's hotel.  Because the hotel is not taking a deposit (cash or credit) they require a prepayment of room.  It is only fair as they are afraid you may trash their room.  

Has anyone really tried to sing a song or two at 37D or KP?

I had experience it once to pay first before the deed. I remember it was in a multi-girl operation somewhere in F. Hill, mamasan asked me for the payment first before banging the girl though. Unfortunately it was a no good service ( No DFK/LFK, DATY even just to touch her pussy, Mechanical type ) . To date it was my first ever worst punting experience.  

Anyway I wouldn't complain if the WG ask for it. I think it's to give them an assurance that the guy have the money to pay for the deed.

i havent been to any saunas for a few years now but if im not wrong you never pay in advance, they always get you on the way out - assume as the bill will vary depending on happy was the ending !!
