PRICES ARE DROPPING BROS

I have really noticed a trend on prices dropping.   Especially in TST with the HG.    I think this is a good indication of the overall market.

1.  There are too many girls now.   If I search HG in TST there are like 200 girls.   Before there used to be 100+ but not ~200.

2.  I always do a search for TST HG with service price point 500-699.     Before I would see maybe 5 or 6 girls priced for $600 but always 0 for $500.

Today I did the same search after reading Old Petes review of $500 Kuta and thinking that it was VERY CHEAP.
http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... &extra=page%3D1

I found 22 girls priced from 500-699 with following breakdown
13 girls priced at $600
9 girls priced at $500

With the given world economy this makes sense.    Its all about supply and demand.    Supply stays high but demand drops because guys are broke then prices will drop.

yeah, your observation is dead on. I have noticed that as well but wasn't sure if maybe these girls services were not as good as the rest. Two months back it was pretty much about $700 for TST HG. Recently like you said I've been seeing quite a bit of $500 to $600 price range. I also noticed that two months back when I searched for TST girls, there were 200 to 215 girls max, nowadays it's like at least 280-330 each time. Guess the supply is not just staying the same, it has actually increased with girls out of work from the factories joining in the already regular WG's. Couple this with the fact that guys are also broke with no money to spend, therefore having this effect where supply GREATLY surpasses demand.

maybe if we wait a couple more months, you might be able to find some TST girls for $400. That would be something wouldn't it. That would make my christmas holiday come true. When TST girls get that cheap, you bet everywhere else will lower their prices accordingly. That will be awesome mongering scene

I like a good punt at a decent price as much as the rest of you but do you think a drop in prices would correspond with a rise in risk while hobbying? The WGs may start becoming more desperate as prices fall and may be willing to take more risks with clients. A drop in prices may not necessarily be a good thing. Just my 2 cents.

The price for the Japanese and European WGs have not changed. There are not too many of them, may be it is supply and demand.

Have you guys talk to your few most recent visit lately about their business. Normally I ask them anyway, and they are all giving me the same answers, Business is not good this year. They claim that during "good" buisness times, they can up to 8 or even 10 clients a day espically sat and sun. But now you are lucky to get even 5-6 a day, while they might just get around 4 or  less each day now even on sat around 5-6, which atleast according to my source, their agents are barely making a breakeven.

Do you know if the Cheaper girls are not as good or is just the hotel they are working now at a cheaper level?

Peace

I think the market/recession is an odd thing - the impact on people is likely either small  if at all (they've kept their jobs, can pay their bills, and at worst have had a small or no pay rise recently) or massive (they've lost their job and can't pay bills). It creates a really weird situation where those with little or no impact get to "enjoy" the price drops being made for those who have had a big impact. I guess that's what we're seeing here, plus as mentioned above an increase in supply bringing prices down!

It would make an interesting case study to compare the increase in "Talent" to the decline in the Economy.

Talent pool increases as the general amount of disposable income available to the potential punters decreases.
Leaving us with an exponentially strained supply chain.

We would need to try and determine
How elastic is the industry as a whole.
Does one start to see a compression of the overall pricing model.
or do we see a stratification in the market (as in Luxury goods).

My hypothesis would be a stratification would occur over time with the Top Tier (e.g. JB HGs) holding their relative value to the market.
and then comparably the "as good as" product starting to show a decline in relative value (i.e. price degradation)

The slide in pricing that we are seeing in a segment of the HG market would then create compression on the second tier product. (e.g. TST/CWB Walk-Up, & second tier locale HGs)

Which then slide down and down.

in effect the net result would be the inability of the lower tiers of product to survive given the reduced Opportunity and increased supply.
The Luxury Product would hold its value and the bottom tier compress for a while and then spur on a series of "retirements".

Overall this may be a healthy cycle for the industry to go thru as it could very well aid in cleaning out the lower quality periphery.

Just my opinion of course.
;-)

Pah supply demand elasticity curves economics is high school stuff.

They be rock bottom cheap but if there theres fook all jobs about then it doesn't matter, (unemployment in the UK is incredible recently about 9 million unfortunately including me with 700+ people applying for each job out there the market is tough, might just go to HK or CN to teach or something).

Life is short very...

The chinese way is to ALWAYS say business is bad.
you never really know if its true .....
I understand the mentality, but its just seems to be a habit of cantonese businessmen.

Why don't they increase their service levels instead?
Say, a standard bbbj, fire & ice, etc, etc
Isn't that what the saunas in china have done? Their bar is continually increasing due to competition.

I would gladly pay a little more for higher quality of service!

THe difference is that those are Saunas and these are walk up WGs / HGs here in HK. Not much chance of a WG union to share knowledge is there? Saunas here are not supposed to offer 'value-added' services.

largely the problem with the industry is one of "Branding"
i think we would all agree that paying for quality is perfectly acceptable.

and if we could reliably ascertain whether the quality were present prior to partaking, there would be less reluctance to select higher Cost product.

Currently we have only our own ratings to go on for determining the "Grade"of the product.
we do so with no SLA (Service Level Agreement)

Now if the industry would begin to consolidate around a more structured Mama-san/Papa-sanmodel. Let's say...
James Bond Seal of Approval 100% satisfaction gurantee or 25% off your next visit.
(Just making that up for the sake of discussion)

if we had a structured rating and SLA system, certain product would then reliably command a premium price.
Even in a repressed market.

While our Hobby does have is "reputation"
it is a business much like any other that caters to a market segment (us) who desire and are willing to pay for luxury services.
These services are not unlike the Facials that our SOs tend to use to relax and feel better about themselves.

The main difference here is that there is an open strucutre to the organization marketing of the those prodcuts.
Whereas our past time lacks a cohesive rigor that would allow it to appear more mainstream.

I for one see no reason why the same market dynamics dont apply. And an approach at marketing the product like any other non-durable luxury service would not work to the benefit of us all as a whole.

in Hong Kong given the legal situation governing 141 we may actually be in one of those unique areas where something like this could be done.
