HK gets lots of girls from the mainland and as far afield as South Korea, Japan (although some of the latter may be Mongolian or northern Chinese) and even Russia. So how come we don't hear of Taiwanese girls, who are much closer and speak Mandarin as well?

Girls from the mainland, russian, mongolia these places are poorer and so they come to HK to make more money cause HK is better in terms of making money. That would be my guess. Besides, why would we want more girls who speak mandarin coming over. We have plenty from PRC already. What we need are more Vietnamese or Cambodian chicks. Ones who we do not see on a regular basis.

Whether or not these girls are really Taiwanese however, is another matter. Could be that they are actually from the Mainland (most likely Fujian province where the dialect spoken there is similiar to what the Taiwanese speak). Taiwan is a fair bit lower than that of HK, you should see London , you thought the MTR was expensive? say $14.6 from Shatin to CWB , a typical fare in Manchester (not even london) into the city is $52 £4 and thats with a super saver ticket. As Dongbei girls are known for their height and fairer complexion, Sichuan is famous for its short yet busty girls, Fujian does not seem to have an equivalent reputation and unlike provinces like Hubei, Hunan etc who are well represented in DG or SZ, it is actually quite difficult to find a Fujian WG in those parts (i only ever encountered one in the sea of Hunan, Hubei girls). But i agree, always good to have a change once in awhile . I agree with Kennichi tho...you can defo stretch a buck much farther in TW than you can in HK. The difference is even more apparent if you compare both the Quality of Living and the monetary costs of living together. Time and time again, I find my TW friends seem to live a much comfier life for a lot less $$$ than I do in HK.

On average, housing in HK will cost you 3 to 4 times more than in Taipei for an equivalent apartment. In Taipei, I'm now paying HK$ 3000 for the same kind of small apt that cost me 12K in Jordan. However, I find food prices - at the supermarket - to be 10-20% cheaper in HK.  Other than that, living costs are roughly the same. Taiwanese women don't appear in the Gal'DB for the same reason real Japanese don't: they can make more $ back home. There are an incredible number of hot girls walking around Taipei btw. Real eye candy! And the Taiwanese chicks are much friendlier and much more approachable than HK girls. 孔子曰： 君子不羞于舔屄也

When Chiang Kai-Shek and his generals/advisers fled China, they took all of their wives and mistresses (who were of course the best looking women in the country) with them (along with most of China's valuable antiquities). Sound a bit farfetched, but it is hard to dispute when you start walking the streets of Taipei!
