Hold em Poker in Macau?

Is there much poker action in Macau? The last time I was there, which was 2 years ago, I did not see any in Casinos...now with the popularity of it, is there any now? If so, please let me know which Casinos would be best for Poker. Thx

Wynn has one and last time i was at MGM, they said they were starting it soon.  There was also one more casino, but i forgot its name, sorry.  It's one of the rather new Asian style ones with multiple floors.  I went when it was pretty new, but it was also pretty empty.  The funny thing is, even pit bosses don't know texas hold'em here.  Everytime I ask, they refer me to carribean poker

Anyway, Wynn has as low as 5/10, but if you're going on the weekend, expect a huge line up for the tables at night.  My advice would be to get on the waiting list, go have dinner, then go back to wait.  Wynn is probably one of the first to have it.  I'd say over 50% of the players are foreigners.

Problem with a game like Hold em which is not played against the house....I'd be kind of afraid if I gave some gangster a bad beat what would happen to me afterwards when I step out of the casino

i think the grand lisboa has some hold'em action. i am not entirely sure though. they had a sign at the main entrance
that pointed to poker rooms up on one of the floors. not sure if its of the hold'em variety but i think it could very well
be as you needed to be a member to enter that particular floor. private rooms and games for highrollers maybe?

Speaking as a player who plays 5 times month in macau, most of the information above is incorrect.
Wynn and Grand Lisboa has games 24/7. Week days each place would have 4-6 tables running. Weekends the rooms would be full, especially Wynn with a waiting list of 3-4 hours.

Minimum blinds are 10-20 in Lisboa, 10-25 in Wynn.

Starworld is dead. Noone plays there, last I heard they not even open on weekdays.

New poker room at a new casino called Lan Kwai Fong.

Anything else you want to know?

Grand Lisboa has tournaments everyday run by Pokerstars. $200/$500/$900 buy-ins/rebuys etc
On Saturdays they have the weekly $2500 buy-ins deepstack. This tournament usually attracts 35-45 people.
Google pokerstars macau for more detail.

I read in the local HK papers that poker is now starting to become popular and the casinos are trying to promote it as a sport like ESPN broadcasts it.  There is some kind of tournament, first of its kind, but the grand prize is like 85kUSD, which pales in comparison with the prized in the world tornaments.

I am pretty sure poker will catch on especially when people in Asia realize the type of big prize tourneys around the world available. Asians love to gamble don't see why it wouldn't catch on if a lot of money is available to be won.

I love tight tables, it's the easiest way to make money. Basically any crappy flop is a money maker since those tight players will never bet. But then again, you could lose everything when someone gets tired of getting bullied.

Are the tables no limit hold'em?
