#4 Post at 20-5-2009 13:25  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Reply #3 ardee09's post Dancing's not a big thing in HK.  You can find it - or at least a very bad approximation - in Wan Chai - but those bars are very expensive for what you get, and will fleece you if you let your guard down.   Also, ignore the descriptions in the db.  It's worse than useless.   Why not just focus on the Main Course?  Pick a girl you like the look of, go see her and ask if she'll dance for you, and if not just fcuk your brains out with her instead ... Alternatively if you REALLY get off on dancing, go to a WanChai disco - you might see a girl giving it a real go, especially if she knows you're paying - they can get quite steamy if they're in the mood, but you have to fan the flames first!  Best if you can dance a bit too, sets up a bit of a contest

In Beijing (which I know isn't useful here) for KTV's I've always asked my Chinese friends to call and book something (which also isn't useful here). Since there isn't any 141 there, the KTVs are a LOT more popular. I don't know where any specific ones are in HKG, but there's a few neon signs for KTVs around the Nathan Rd area near Dundas St. One thing about KTVs, you pay for the room, the server, and the girls. So it doesn't make sense to go without a group of at least 3 or 4 guys. It's always smoky, since invariably some of the guys and all of the girls smoke. Just for reference you can read lots of KTV stories about the Gold Mine in CP in the China Reports Section.
