As when in business I always like to mix work and pleasure.

I Was in Shanghai a few weeks ago and decided to hit the road for a simple massage.
Been around people’s square I know where to go.

Decided to go shopping first and barely walked a few minutes that I saw on a side street a massage place I didn’t try before.
Entrance look was really good. Looked legit and appropriate for my mood which was a good old fashion massage on sofa chair, in a room with TV and fruits.

At the cashier they give me the usual foreigners paper price list with choices that I usually dismiss to the cheapest one.
Of course only exclusive massage was available.

Well why not from approx 500rmb I jumped to 800rmb.

They took me inside and I must say the place was really clean and modern. A real spa.
Opt in my private room, took out my clothes and put the light paperish underwear provided. Delighted to wait a few minutes on my stomach as I was a bit jet lagged.

The door opens and a nice good looking lady in her 40s goes in. All perfect except…
She was dressed in a red gala dress and had the longest fake nails I have ever seen. How would that woman give me a proper massage.

I asked her nicely “you massage me?” She replies exclusive massage. Little I understood it was a question… after I confirmed nodding a yes with my head. She started massaging me with one hand while texting with the other…
I told her to finish phone to massage. She speaks to the phone in Chinese and the phone repeats “exclusive massage?” I reply again yes…
Directly she turns the phone with a simple picture saying “Special massage 800 extra”.

You know me I obliged and said ok. Little I understood that it was only a bad (the worse) HJ. Due to the nails, it was made with the point of the fingers. I couldn’t finish and told her to stop. Left with 1600rmb down.

Lesson? Never change the reason you are out there. Chose what you are looking for and stick to it!
