Hi All, Not much to say really, where do you guys get tested? Do you use the Social Hygiene Clinics? or private, if so where.

Depends on what test you want done.

And will you be claiming it back on insurance?

NeoHealth in central if you don’t care about money
EMC in central or TST for a “premium” experience
Mhs in central or TST probably best value for money

I've been to the social hygiene clinics. its easy and free if you have HKID.
I went to Neo Health once in Central and it wasn't too expensive.

There is also SafeZone in TST, if you want something discrete.

Try to avoid PCR testing for STDs as this technology is notorious for errors.

Reference: Dr. Kary Mullis, the biochemist who made the test work & received
one-half of the 1993 Nobel Prize. Mullis was VERY clear the test is to be used
ONLY for research purposes, NOT for diagnostic purposes.]

Ask for the "old fashioned" testing, far more accurate. Results take longer.

The Corman-Drosten et al. Review Report in Eurosurveillance 2020 [27 November 2020]
gives excellent details on the litany of problems with PCR testing. Be advised, the report
is technical in nature.

Hence, after a slog read, punting is recommended for sanity retention.

For social hygiene best to get there before it opens and be first in line so as to avoid a long wait. No appointments. A clinician will eventually do a visual inspection with a bright light and may then send you for blood draw at another room. You'll get a small card as a receipt and shows the date to come back (2 weeks later?). Again arrive early and provide the card at the registration window. Eventually you'll be called to review the results with a clinician.
