Safety in Macau Sauna - help please!

I hope you can help me for my first visit to a Macau sauna. I might be a little tight when it comes to security. I'm planning on heading from Hong Kong just for a couple hours.

In general how safe is locking up your cash and passport in the lockers of the saunas? How often do things "disappear" from these? If my passport does disappear is there any way of getting back to Hong Kong without it?

Any other (security) tips you have for me? I do understand the concept of how the sauna system works, it really just is how safe are they? Like getting mugged after a visit?

Both the saunas and the city are very safe. Could something happen? Of course. But nothing much ever does seem to happen there. Harmony is good for business, and neither the government nor the gambling/sauna businesses want disharmony that might keep people away.

don't worry.
typically quite safe.

if you don't feel safe,
just put your passport and money in a ziplock bag, then tie up in a plastic bag.
just carry the plastic bag wherever you go/
when you go shower, hang it under your towel
when go choose WGs, tuck under your arm
when you go fuck, leave it beside the bed
you will get weird looks, but at least you know your stuff is safe.

as other members said, not need to worry about this.
Saunas are safe, but if you want feel more safe you can carry your valuables with you in the lounge room.
In my first and only experience in Macau, i walked around alot in the city before went to the Sauna and feel very safe.

Thank you everyone for your answers! I heard that sometimes the you only can access the locker if the attendant opens it for you with a second key and your oown? Does anyone know which saunas in Macau have this?

if you're worried about safety in Macau saunas, there is a service that will put your mind at ease ...

you don't need to put anything in the locker for safe keeping, someone will accompany you through out your stay in the sauna ... he will carry all your valuables, be your translator, watch over you in the room while you're being serviced by the girl(s) and make sure you leave the sauna alive

this service is only available twiceAweek so prior reservation is a must, fees are negotiable depending the length of your stay in the sauna on top of the cost of sauna and other necessary addons

let me know if this is what you're looking for and I will put you in touch with the other party

Yes, when you change out of your clothes you are given a magnetic (coded) key on a coiled wrist band that you wear during your stay. No attendant can open your locker without this
magnetic key. Likewise, you would not be able to open your locker door without the attendant's master key. It is sort of like the key system with safety deposit boxes in a bank.

Thanks newguyici, that's what I wanted to know

I understand that, when they really want to get into it, they probaly can (makes sense, what about a guy that doesn't want to leave and they need to get his stuff to boot him out?). But has anyone heard any stories in the forum of things/passports/cash actually disappearing from the locker?
