I now have a small box I can speak into, which translates my speech (not always 100% accurately but typically close enough) into Chinese and Thai. During the upcoming holidays I may be testing its Vietnamese/Khmer capabilities as well.

I think you need a smart phone, like iphone or android.

I've been using WeChat extensively in Bangkok and Hanoi.  The "People Nearby" feature is just brilliant...  It will pull up ~100 profiles, usually of women within 2-3 km.  It takes a bit of acclimation to figure out who are the civilians, part-timers, and pros.  

It's particularly useful in Hanoi.  I know that there's plenty of action in the karaoke places.  But as a solo flyer who hates karaoke and cannot speak a word of Vietnamese, that's hardly playing to my strength.  Sure I could run around and find the "barber shops" where I can get a HJ or BJ at bargain-basement prices.  But I'm rarely in the mood just for a BJ -- and I can get that much more easily when I get back to Bangkok.  There are Vietnamese-language websites where native speakers can get 1 shot for 250-500k VND.  Again, I could hunt down a Vietnamese intermediary who could set me up with a quick and cheap bonk with a girl with whom I could not communicate.  Again, that's not really what I'm looking for...      

The thing I like about WeChat is that it has no rules or standards (yet).  I like multiple-hour sessions with multiple pops.  I can negotiate that with relative ease on WeChat.  If a lady only does 1-shot quickies (as many do), then it's on the the next profile...  That's about as close as I get to wham-bam...  

I also like the fact that there appear to be many students who are part-timers...  and they're fun to play with... it's the monger equivalent of fly fishing (pun intended).  I've chatted with one cute young lass off and on for several months.  I finally asked if she would like to come over and spend the night.  She said, "Who do you think you are?  You know that we are just friends."  I replied, "Yes, but maybe in return for a little financial support, we could be more than friends?  No answer...  

The next day around lunchtime she asked, "Do you want to meet me?"  Of course, I said yes...  We had trouble connecting on a time.  Finally we settled on 2 pm the next day.  Then we tried to figure out the "where"...  I was trying to figure out how to suggest "my apartment" when she replied, "You want to sleep with me?"  "That would be lovely!" I replied.  

Then we finally got down to business...  "How much money can you give me?" (Many Asians, particularly women, do not understand the subtle distinction between "can" and "will").  I said, "Two hours, sex two times would normally be 1.5 million VND.  2.0 tops."  She replied that she's "not a cheap girl... I need 15 million/month."  After much discussion (consisting mostly of me saying "no", "no",...), she said again that we can only be friends.

The next day she texted me, "I am free 2 pm tomorrow.  You want to meet me?  I want 5 million, one time."  Of course, I say no.  Three hours later, she texted me a picture of a coat (very attractive coat, actually) and said, "1.7 million...  Can you buy it for me?"  I said, "Sure, if you want to come over for two hours, two times."  "Tonight is ok?" she replied...

Unfortunately, it wasn't...  So we're still dancing...  But we seem to have established whether she really is, in fact, "not a cheap girl"...

Although I have yet to try it out in Chongqing (China), by just looking at some of the females in the "people nearby" section, you'll be sent greetings from pimps in your area and all you need to do is reply to them.  Best to look at the girls who have 'bikini' or 'kisses' or other random icons in their name and look too good to be true.  You can also shake in wechat and there is usually one or two pictures with phone numbers listed to contact services.  I have only found this in Chongqing, but not in Chengdu or Kunming by the way.

I have used Wechat in HCMC and I really feel thats a waste. Dont get me wrong off all the cities in asia I think Wechat looking around in area of HCMC has the most working girls , unbelievable amount of great looking profile pics.

Problem is they all from Agents, they discover you and start talking to you and sent you great looking pics! real good looking girls. I tried them 3 times and all three times, the girl looks soo different, and you quickly realise you been chatting to the agent as sometimes they dont know they price agreed ( which I agreed on the chat)

Service is crap too, they all do standard licking around nipple and then wanna jump a aboard and get it over with.

Wechat, lots of options but in this case quantity really doesnt give you quality....

Social media hunting is fun but you do have to put the time in. I think the results are worth the effort but it isn't a simple walkup. Cultivating takes time, patience.
