In summary:

May I just add the following conclusions (please correct me if I'm wrong) based on the laws for punters:

1) Walk ups - perfectly legal so long as there is only one girl present

2) Hotel walk ins - grey area for punter. Girl is engaging in an illegal activity, unless she is a local resident or on some kind of work visa and doing this part time)

3) Street walker pick ups - punter can be busted for soliciting.  Girl is engaging in an illegal activities. I guess the definition of soliciting is important. Let the WG make the first move. I'm not sure how the punter can protect himself, audio recording? Vid recording?

4) Massage/ Saunas with HE - Illegal establishments if caught with pants down. Not sure about client, most likely can get away with 'I was lost in the moment, or, I'm not aware and was entrapped'.

5) Pick up pubs - Clearly legal. 3P, 4P etc should be alright at the hotels, amongst consenting adults.

6) Hotel gals with tourist visa is illegal (for the gal) but not sure if the punter is committing a crime.

Reading the articles, the syndicate is charged with 'living on the earnings of the sex worker". So if the punter doesn't take from the WG, I think he is fine! I don't see any reports of customers being arrested.

Read in the Standard that the "website had been shut down" but everything seems to be normal. ...

I think what is illegal is an organized prostitution ring and living off the earnings of working girls. So pretty much if you meet in a bar I think it is legal in HK, but if you call an organized ring/agent, then it is illegal for the agent and the girls. Also, for mainland WG, it is illegal to make money because it is a violation of their visa.

Just realised that the website hasn't been updated since Wednesday;  so deactivated rather than shut down

I'm no lawyer but from what I read regarding the laws here, there is nothing wrong with engaging in paid sexual activity. The part on soliciting is true. You cannot 'make an offer'. Always make the WG 'offer'. Perhaps others can add to this point.

I suppose that the grey area is HGs. The HGs are clearly on tourist visas and not allowed to work. However, the burden is not upon us to verify this. They work and it is them who break the law. We pay as consumers and there is no law (I think) about 'buying' from illegals. Of course if the police wants to be nasty, I'm sure they can nick the customers on something else. Like in Singapore which is based largely on British law and I suspect HK is very similar, there is a law against unnatural sex. So anything other than penetrating the V is 'unnatural'. A couple can actually get arrested for having oral sex!!

It looks like the main reasons for the bust and shutdown of SEX141 was 1.) Living on the avails of prostitution; and 2.) Money laundering. Both of these being illegal if it wasn't obvious.

Well, going to play in WC bar scene tonight. I have a older report to post in the Rest of the World section, and another punt this morning. Seems so weird without the Gal'DB though. earlier this evening it linked to the english website when i clicked on the relevant link but now it links to the chinese 141 website.
but if u click the mobile version it links to the english database.

Despite its same format and links, I have no reason to believe that the site you linked is related to sex141 yet...
I think its just a temporary outlet for HD.
I have removed the link.

Could some mod help us with info about the new site? I posted the website of a site that had the same format as sex141, but was told that it was an outlet of HD. Now I see another site that has a similar format as sex141 and has more agents advertising. But not sure what to make of it.
Could some mod enlighten us ???
