I was out for happy hour last night with some colleagues at a trendy bar in Wan Chai. Now, let me make things clear... this place wasn't Amazonia or the likes, more like The Pawn and that type of crowd. The place was hella busy and people came in and out, most of which were westerners and local and overseas Chinese. While sitting at the bar table, I had a couple (local chinese) sitting a seat away. They were probably getting to know each other for the first couple times as I saw it. The girl was early 20s and honestly was pretty damn cute wearing a nice dress. The guy wasn't fugly, but he was probably leaning in mid 30s to 40 with her hand lying on her back/ass. My question is whyyyy???? These girls belong to people around the same age group. Was she in it for money? Compensated dating? WTFFFFFFF!?!?!?!? I had the opportunity to talk to her for a couple seconds asking her if the seat between us was taken when my colleague came. LOLLLL..

Anyway I'd like to hear what you guys have to say. Have you seen this ??? And at that given opportunity, would you have had the balls to cock block the fucker and make a move? I mean, who says a girl with a guy can't talk to a stranger at a bar right??

I've found that Asian girls find attractiveness in men different from western girls say from USA, Australia, UK, Canada etc.

I'm not a looker by any means but I'm tall, fair skin, large nose and this attracts the Asian girls alot more to my delight!    I'm not complaining as I always had a dry spell at home.

What you are assuming that couples should generally be of the same age group is akin to, dare I say it, couples should generally be of the same race. I often see western white people that seem very poor on welfare with Chinese girls. I think why sister? Then people on forums as usual say its up to the couple - if they are in love and both legal adults then why bother them?   So lets apply the same logic here. Women have ALWAYS been attracted to older men in just about every culture around the world.  Age (typically) indicates a whole bundle of traits that are very important to women when mate-selecting:  wealth, stability, status, security, life-experience, a mentor, etc. Etc..  

I am in my 40s and am more successful with 20 or 30-something gals than I have ever been!  By far.

There is no doubt, in my home (Western) city it is far less common to see a hot young girl with an older guy. You do see it more often in Asia and there are many reasons for that we are all aware of. It does happen in my home city though, and while you may have a "WTF" reaction, my reaction is "good luck to the guy!" why not? Whatever the circumstances, if he is paying for her attention (one way or another) or she has a need for the father figure type, or he has a dick the size of a baseball bat, or she just loves the guy... what's wrong with that?

Now as a separate issue... my friends and I, who punt together regularly and travel to HK/China on business regularly, have occasionally brought our wives to HK. Common sense prevents us from visiting Wan Chai on those occasions simply because we know our SOs will see fat old white guys walking around hand in hand with stunning 20 something girls in the shortest of short dresses...

I think the key is "see" - I'm ready to bet hookups with a large age difference happen just as much outside Asia as they does here - the key difference being that here it's more visible.  

No proof, but a lot of anecdotal evidence
SYTs are brutally competitive with each other - looks, clothes, fashion, and yes also the age of their boyfriend.  Snaring and keeping an older boyfriend is seen as a sign of maturity and accomplishment, by their peers.  

And there are PLENTY of examples of guys getting Trophy Wives, all over the World.  Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are an obvious example ... so the question arises if it might be all about money and social status ...

but my view is it's not all about money and status - we tend to hear of the famous ones because they're more famous.  But you don't have to look very far to find other more middle-class examples of younger women pursuing older men.
