what happens when you call the agent for the room number?

hey,

normally when you book a HG the agent asks you to call again once you arrive at the hotel for the room number

i always thought that the agent might be nearby and watching you once you arrive at the hotel, maybe take a photo of you or see how you look like before giving you the room number...

i usually call outside the hotel.

Among other things, I presume he wants to make sure that the previous customer finished on time so that the girl doesn't have to deal with the two of you at the same time. If she's not ready, you'll be asked to wait.

doubtful, more for logistics, but i suppose nothing is impossible...

only one agent has asked what clothes are you wearing before... and that's usually to let the girl know for her protection.

but i've called the agent from a multitude of places like 2 blocks away, just before getting off public transportation by the hotel, etc... and no problems

I've only tried a HG once. I called him on the HK number, but then he called me back on a China number. It's possible the agent isn't even in HK...?
