Well finally after all these years, I got the "send money" SMS from a WG.  I'm kind of amazed that it took so long.  The girl in question works massage at a semi-reputable place and has giving me BBBJ's and FS on the sly (HJs are fine at this place but it takes some doing to get away with outright sex).  We've been out once, but no serious dating.

I'd been wondering just how much of a pro she was, since she professed relative innocence but fucked like a pornstar.  Then a couple of weeks she went home to visit the family for vacation.  We texted a bit and today she sends me a note that she ran out of money and could I send her some, complete with wire transfer instructions.  No emergency or need stated, just a ballsy, "Hey let me see your wallet for a second,"   kind of moment.

it was to hire an expensive machinery
so they could complete the job
get paid and would return the loan instantly
i walked away that very evening

i'm pretty curious too. being the cynical bastard that i am, i would convince myself she is just trying to hustle and she's probably doing it too all her contacts. but thats just me

Did she ask you for an amount or was it just a open request?
If I liked the girl I'd send her HKD500 or so as a gesture and see if she asked for more or just says thanks.

I wasn't planning on sending her anything, and she didn't ask for a specific amount.  Anyway, unless it's an outright emergency the whole bank transfer thing is such a pain in the ass.  Plus I don't like being filed in the 'sucker/chump' file.

This girl is fun, but she also has a calculating head on her.  Sometimes she asks for 'english lessons' (translation: bigger tip to pay for english lessons), and once when I gave her a present (earings, as she had lost one during a session) she asked how much I paid for them

To some extent this is cultural.  In SE Asia you see one family member supporting 10 others, or someone buying a condo with bags of cash that they collected the day before from extended relatives.  This cultural habit of being so matter-of-fact about asking for money makes it hard to distinguish between a girl who sees you as 'one of the family' and a working girl who sees you as one of her many sugar daddies.  It's a fine line  . . .

it is almost if you send any $$$ you will not hear the end of it. For the same amount of money you could have gotten more fun anyway. Unless you are looking for an emotional connection - which means you are 'renting' love....

I have a friend who has a WG in Cebu he sends money to. I asked him why and he said it's his World Vision contribution, he can afford it so who gives a fuck... that's how he sees it.

I personally don't think any WG would ever see us as "one of the family." Just my 2c but i guess every situation is different. Sounds like she's a golddigger though. Asking how much presents costs??? LOL =.=

I've noticed there is a tendency in Asia to look upon money as sort of a "Community Chest"
type of system. Where friends and family that have share with those that have not.  They truly
believe in the "Charity begins at home" concept.  The fact that she has asked you,  and more
importantly, has not specified an amount,  means you are included in her circle of friends and she
is testing your generosity and/or feelings for her. As always, up to you what you chose to do.
But in this scenario I don't see a downside in sending whatever you can afford to "invest',shall we say.

Well, what would your boss say if you were to have a problem and ask him for an advance?
More importantly, what would you do if he told you to F off?

I think there's a lot of truth to NY Mike's words.  The challenge for us p4p types is distinguishing between this and just plain old gold digging.  And as Tony Toro alludes, it ain't all that expensive.  Sure a $100 bucks is more than you pay at a Hot Toc for a BBBJTCIM, but it's still only $100 bucks and it's double the national monthly wage.

Well, I have helped several WGs before.  If I like them and kinda got to know and trust them I don't mind helping out.  I can afford it - a couple hundred bucks is nothing to me, but means a LOT to them.  

I consider it charity.  I could donate to the Red Cross or focus my charity on a few gals who made me feel great for a while.

Agreed, kind of a "pay it forward" thing. Probably many of us here have spare money, it has to be spare if you can afford to monger doesn't it? So giving a little to others less fortunate is a good thing to do.

There is something that "clicks" where I know this gal is alright.  I'll help her.  Am I wrong sometimes?  Maybe.., don't care.  It still feels good.

The money call is classic.  If you fall for it, they will end up having an endless collection of dead or dying aunts, uncles, grand parents, and the like, and they will get sick very often with illnesses that need to pay a doctor the right amount to take care of.  It's amusing to say the least.  Keep the blood out of the little head and keep it in the big head, and you won't have to pay for it
