Talents in Sham Shui Po and Kwun Tong!

I'm just browsing the DB and noticed the large number of talent in SSP and KT. Outside of TST, these two places have the highest num of talent and many look quite promising with cheaper prices.

Why is there such a large congregation of talent in SSP / KT?

Not sure about why, but KT certainly has more of the more experienced ones i find, low turnover.

SSP you get a mix

Maybe the abdundance of cheap and old blocks of flats for the WG's to rent?

I talked to one of WGs I frequent in cambridge building kwun tong and she said rent is $6000 per month including utilities. Not sure how much it costs on the island bu I'm guessing it's more expensive.  I would imagine ssp would be simolar to kwun tong maybe a little more

I think rent, tradition, and relationships (to dark side and bright side) are key factors.

SPP and KT have always been the less affluent areas in Hong Kong, so rent's always been cheaper. This builds up a long time tradition, and tolerance amongst locals, for their presence. Finally, the relationships to run these places are keys. Based on my knowledge gained from watching many years of triad movies, each area is governed by different clans, thus the development of clusters.

I love SSP!  There are many 141 clusters all closely situated on both sides of Cheung Sha Wan Road.  Easy MTR access.  Lots of variety -- and also economical!  You'll pay $100-$200 less than in TST and Causeway.

After you're doing mongering, you can buy nice electronic assessories in the street markets.

SSP has always had a tradition of seediness.  It used to be called "Men's Market", presumably because the street market scene is similar to "Ladies' Market" in Mongkok.  But it's also called "Men's Market" because this area was a red light district.  When I first started mongering (in the early 90s), SSP had freelance Thai prostitues along Fuk Wa Street at night.  In fact, my very first punt was with a Thai freelancer in SSP.  But those street girls are now long gone.

Today, SSP has lower rents since the residential buildings are pretty run down.  But it's still close enough to the city and connected by tons of public transport.

WTF. Compared to $6000 per month in kwun tong if I was a WG I know where I'd beworking. Is rent tax deductible for WGs considering it is business expense?

I know there's a payoff, but there must be some landlords who are making a great living out of this - with these bedsits in some seriously grotty places going for so much

yes, seems like rent is the major factor and also being a historical red light district, so to speak.

Also, many SSP talents list straight HJ as their cheapest service. HKD150 lowest I came across.

Some of the girls look young in the DB photos which I doubt are their real pics?

I might check out the place this coming weekend as I need a HDD caddy

A possible conversation with ernieb

Me: "So, what are you up to this weekend?"
ernieb: "Not much. Y'know, regular weekend plans."
Me: "Do tell."
ernieb: "Well, I'm thinking of heading over to Sham Sui Po to pick up a new Hard Disk Drive, because my old one died on me. Afterwards, if I have the time, I'm thinking of getting a handjob or maybe full service from an old hag. You know. Typical weekend."

Oh how I love Asia!

SSP

Low rent, historic red light distrct, easy access from anywhere in HK due to being right on a stop of a major mtr line.  Right in the mix of an electronics market (which r more often male consumers)  Location, location, location.

Cheap FS, I was there Monday FS for $450 is hard to beat.  report forthcoming....

Yes the DB pictures are greatly enhanced, I don't think I did the girl in the pic, eitherthat or the pic has been PS to the point of being unrecognizable.
