#1 Post at 1-12-2010 22:20  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Language a barrier? I'm a FOB nookie newbie here, just moved to HK from Singapore. New to the mongering scene in HK, but been chionging in Singapore for quite awhile (glad to pass on any information to guys here, feel free to PM me if you're heading to Singapore). One question I have is regarding language - I speak only English, not a word of Canto or Mandarin. Is that an issue? I notice most of the local gals in the DB speak only Canto or Mandarin, very few speak English. Is this an issue for anyone else? Any info would be appreciated! Also, what is the protocol on tipping here? I usually don't tip, instead I prefer to give an honest report and return to the gal if I liked her. I feel this is better than tipping, which the gals in Singapore are ok with. Is there a standard protocol here on tipping? [ Last edited by  hotmayle at 1-12-2010 22:22 ]

I've had darker skinned friends (Indians & African-Americans) who have been flat-out rejected cos of the color of their skin. So basically, you not being able to speak the local language counts as a double whammy for you. However, a number of girls only care about the color of your money and not your skin. So do more research on the 141 reviews and take note of those regular contributors who are non-Chinese.
