How easy are the Hotels to find?

Hello, a quick question for all you experienced people.

I am new to HK so just wanted to know is it difficult to find the hotels in HK when you call up to book a girl or will teh agent give good directions?

Make sure you get the name of the hotel, then take a taxi, simple.

Good thing about HK is that taxi rides are not that expensive.

On my trips to HK I would always make the phone call from the hotel, then google the hotel so I know exactly where it is. I usually caught the train - all very easy.

The hotels I stayed in had a free map of HK and most of the time the hotel I was going to was printed on the map.

Nowadays, with iphones etc... you could just google the hotel from anywhere!

if you're taking the MTR or walking, use Google Maps. it has very detailed instructions, and you can even input the MTR station you're alighting from and it will tell you how to get to the hotel

I've used the 141 site and it almost always have picture of the entrance to the place, including hotels. If you have the name of the hotel in English and the name of the street then the free city map should get you there.
Worst case you grab the map, take a taxi, point to the street and say the hotel name in English, most cabbies will know where to take you.

what I've done before is stay at the E hotel or the R hotel....then I'd call around and figure out which girls are at the E or R. I would book the girls in the hotel where I was staying. really convenient

I started doing this one stay in HK when I would see these really hot girls always getting off on a certain floor...

you left out a lot of details.  I assume you are talking about HG girls.  Can you speak Mandarin or Cantonese?

if you only know English and call one JB's girls, you should be ok, since his English is very good.  Others - dunno.  Having said that though, you're a doofus if you can't figure it out, with enough ambition.  HK hotel geography isn't that hard to figure out, especially on the Kowloon side.

I found a reference to Asl-Ting-Ting in the SIA magazine this month. What's that you ask... Good question. They have a website here:

http://www.asktingting.com/

But it is still a little vague. But reading these features:
- integrated Google maps with point-to-point walking directions, as well as information on public transportation routes and taxis,
- a Smartphone offering free local calls as well as unlimited Internet and e-mail access
us foreigners could use this as the ultimate all in one mongering assistant to get around HK. Phone the HG from your Tingting, map the way to the hotel - hell with full Internet access, you could post your reports on the thing!

Anyone had any experience with these things? I cannot find any reference on price, just that it varies with hotels. Can a local ask at reception next time your visiting a HG?

you can also stop by any decent looking hotel near you and get a map from the front desk. they're usually very generous about handling out maps and giving you directions. another tactic i've used is ask the cab driver if he knows the hotel you're talking about, if he says yes, then get in, if not, try the next one. good thing about HK is that cabs are fairly easy to get. good luck punting.

(1) Get the agent to SMS you with the hotel name and address in English & Chinese. Show the text message to the taxi driver.

If that doesn't work, and all else fails,

(2) Get the agent on the phone and hand the phone to the taxi driver. Guaranteed to work, unless the cabbie is a total loser.

I find that agents may not know the english name of the hotel (or translate it literally - which is normally incorrect).  Best is to ask for the road/street name and number - which will guarantee that even a taxi ride (if required) will get you there.  Roadside signs for the street normally denote the building numbers so its quite easy and straightforward to find.  I'll normally get to the location by MTR and use Google Maps for hard to find, obscure hotels.

I had an interesting experience trying to find the "E" hotel once. I had never been there so went to the "E" center on mody rd near TST centre then rang the mamasan back and ended up at the Imperial hotel and then had to ring back and finally made it to the E hotel. So another tip is get them to spell it out.

the only agents that frustrate me in HK are the ones who can't speak any Cantonese, or English.  Why the fuck are you answering the phone?  You're not in China. Yeah, more people in HK speak Mandarin than 15 years ago, but still, 99% of your customers are going to speak either Cantonese or English.
