So I have a 1 day layover in Shenzhen or Dongguan next month.  Will be flying in on Sunday afternoon then flying out of Shenzhen airport 8AM on Monday morning.  Just wondering what you guys suggest I do for just the one night.  Should I stick to Shenzhen or is Dongguan a possibility?  How long would a taxi take from DG to Shenzhen airport early on a Monday morning?

I've been in Shenzhen before but with a PRC GF.  I got a chance to hit hooker alley when she was shopping but honestly it was not MCOT.  I prefer GFE and overnight experiences rather than quickies. Also, after reading about Hunter's LE experience a few months back, I am hesitant to go back by myself.  

I read through the forum for Shenzhen saunas and the options don't seem nearly as good as DG.  But I am now reading that many places in DG are shutting down or accepting only regulars due to raids in preparation for the October holiday - Virgin Sauna was my initial thought until I read they may be shut down for now.  Since I am alone, KTVs don't seem like the best option unless I can meet up with other punters from the forum on a Sunday afternoon.  But I would really like to try Mayflower if going alone is not a bad option.

So given these restrictions, can the bros here chime in with what they would do and where?

40 mins by taxi to the airport, about 230rmb from dong guan, depends on which area where you are in dong guan

Bro, if you've got time and don't mind a long read, I just had my first exp in DG CA and its in the chinese report section. It wasnt too far from SZ, as bro cactuss said around 40 mins.

Although I know MayFlower and Royal Garden are far better in terms of quantity and quality, the MGM KTV I went to was pretty impressive. I didnt go to any saunas so can't comment.

Theres loads of reports in the Chinese setion regarding DG so maybe read through them and decide whether you can fit it in your schedule...I think its well worth it!

If you have the time, Hit the Houjie international or the Sheraton Dongguan in Houjie. Its about 20 min past the CA exit on the Dongguan Shenzhen expressway. So about 1 hour from Shenzhen by Taxi.

The quality at both places are good both about the same price total will set you back about 1000 rmb but so far there is no sign of a crackdown there.

Thanks to everyone for their help.  Still have a month before my trip so will keep checking the site for any updates about raids/crackowns in Chang An or Houjie then make a final decision.  Both locations are high on my list, but maybe CA a bit higher due to lower prices than what I have read about on Houjie.

I agree and would check out CA first as long as the crackdown doesn't hit there around that time. I will post what I find out about the crackdown on Hunters thread in the China report section keep checking there.
