Gotta disagree with you there on the relative "healthiness" of weed versus booze. Y'know, just so we can have another one of those gigantic brawls in here where an answer is never reached . . .
My bias is that they are both damaging in different ways. Clearly in the U.S. there's a lot of traffic fatalities directly related to drunk driving, I don't know what effect weed has on your ability to operate complex machinery but I imagine that it's not a great idea to do so.
Over my lifetime I've watched a number of friends slide happily down into intellectual oblivion on weed, whereas my drinking buddies are still able to hold their own in a conversation. I don't know why that is, and I readily admit that this is purely anecdotal evidence and therefore non-conclusive, but it has made me wonder about the long term effects of moderate use of both substances.
And then there's the more immediate physiological consequences: alcohol kills brain cells, smoking tears up the lungs and fills them with carbon and particulates.
