Every now and then i take a look at the reviews in the Chinese forum. Occasionally i can get the gist of the review by seeing how the experience has been rated on the one to five scale. So far as actually being able to read the report, that is another story entirely. I have attempted to use http://babelfish.yahoo.com to translate the text. I honestly don't know why they even bother to offer the service.
The resulting translation couldn't be any more useless.

I am hoping that one of the members who is fluent in both Chinese and English could provide an acceptable translation of the example I am posting just so I can see what a proper translation looks like. Maybe then I will be able to extrapolate what an actual translation could potentially be.

Perhaps there is another translation site that I am unaware of that provides a more accurate service. Anyone have a site that they have had better success with?

LOL. very interesting read but which parts do you not understand? It might be easier if you stated which parts you didn't know and we could help. Frankly, other than 龍舟掛鼓 (but I kinda can guess), I know what the passage means but cannot really be arsed to translate the whole thing....

Sometimes the meaning in chinese cannot be translated/wont make sense in english. But i'll do my best with this one if you can bear with me for a few mins.

Cantonese by itself is pretty slangy as it is, with many of the normal conversation words already without a proper written word.  The translators only work with more standard Cantonese, like what you might see in a novel or a newspaper. Then you add to the fact that this author is really pouring on the slang (actually it's not as bad as most of the others), and there's no way any translator will be able to read this unless you're from HK.  Even most Chinese readers from other parts wouldn't understand this.  I could show this to anyone who grew up outside of HK and they would probably get the gist of what the person was writing about, but not much of the content.

I won't translate the thing, because I myself am not all that good at reading Chinese, but let's take Looks for example:

樣貌: 4.5/5 – 標準靚女.幾Q translated to "standard pretty girls. Several Q"

actually that's not a bad translation, except what the heck is a Q?  Well, Q is slang for "pop".  As in, this girl allows many pops.  "Q" comes from "cue", as in the pool stick, so use your imagination there.  That's the etymology of Q.
