Hey guys, I just found this forum today, and I've been browsing it for hours, checking out girls, learning about the scene, and dfg'ing. I'm quite excited about my trip to hongkong now. Anyways, one thing im concerned about is getting access to the internet. I've arranged to rent out someones flat, and ideally I hope to find an unsecure connection that I can leech off of (is this common in hk? or are ppl smarter and properly secure their connections?) My backup plan would be of course to go to a starbucks or shopping center to get internet. Those backup plans are fine for my regular internet browsing, but its not ideal for browsing 141. Can anyone suggest some other solutions?? I was thinking of a hotel lounge maybe. I imagine they would have wifi, and the lounge would be a bit more private than a starbucks. #2 Post at 27-6-2009 08:33  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L internet places cost next to nothing and are available almost anywhere in HK although normally there is a minimum, usually a few bucks.  or you can go to mcdonalds or other places like starbucks for internet

If I ever find myself sitting in McDonalds browsing for whores while little kids around me are trying to enjoy their kids meals...then I must have a problem. =P p.s. this forum and site is really addicting. #7 Post at 5-7-2009 15:46  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L You can buy a PCCW hotspot access card at 7-11, good for 1 month, for around HKD 150.  There are PCCW hotspots all over, including on the train from the airport, MTR stations, 7-11s, Starbucks, and the standalone PCCW phone booths that have "wifi" on them.  I have my ipod touch on the single-device monthly plan, and I'm rarely more than a block away from a hotspot.

Wifi access in HK is plentyful - paid is easy (even callboxes have PCCW wifi hotspots) - free is possible, but you need to go hunting.   But anything in public is going to have you squirming around to make sure noone can see your screen (or a reflection of your screen in the window behind you)  etc.  The mobile version of the site is OK for last-minute directions, and you can use it anywhere with GPRS, but it's not for making a short-list.  You do need a full-size computer for research or for the forum. I doubt I'll be able to get access from my flat, but atleast I can have access outside. I heard festival walk mall in kowloon tong (i think thats the area...) has wifi in the entire mall. Can anyone confirm this??? I really wish I had an iphone now, it would be perfect. Thanks for all the info guys.
