BBBJs are super safe.
This was in the early 2000s, shortly after my first punt:
About 3 days after getting a BBBJ, I came down with cold symptoms. I got nervous because I read many times, the onsite of HIV resembled the cold. I was totally in panic.
I eventually called the AIDS hotline in the US (where I lived at the time). I told her of my situation and assured her I got was a BBBJ.
She said if I only got BBBJ, there's no need for me to get HIV tested. She said of almost 100,000 recorded HIV infections in the US, ZERO came from a BBBJ. Sure it's a theoretical possibility, but it has never happened.
So that made me really relieved. 25 years later, I'm still alive. You might catch other stuff but it's stuff that's usually manageable.
After countless BBBJ I've gotten, I've never come down with anything.
