HK Late June early July

It's always a pain to try to organize a trip, I am trying to figure out if HK / Macau are good places to visit late June or early July.  Specifically will I get killed by weather, by holidays I am not aware of, or any other special issues (like all the WGs heading back to mainland for something?)

Inquiring minds want to know.

June and July are the hot months for HK. But they are the shopping months for HK also.

In HK "hot" means 100% humidity, frequent heavy rain, possible typhoons later (e.g. July).

Shouldn't get in the way of you mongering though.  Just be ready to sweat!

haha, I am thinking you have already seen me in action.

I did Japan a few years ago in July, everyone walked around with a towel and pretty much spent the whole day wiping themselves off.  Oh yeah, alternating between that and freezing cold in the massively over air conditioned restaurants and such.

Anything particular on the schedule that time of the year?  Who all might be in town and up for maybe a group Macau run? ;)

Bit far ahead for most locals - my impression is most HK people plan 2 to 4 weeks out, and quite a few only make commitments at the last minute - that means it's worth posting again a few weeks before you come!
