no the walk up girls tend to keep themselves clean as its their living. if you were to ask for a BBBJ from a gal who had a cold sore on her lip ready to drool over your LB, then thats you asking for trouble. its hard to tell who has what so be safe and use a dom.

I think you need to read up on STD's and their transmission.  If you are concerned about catching anything from a WG and taking it "home" then there is always a chance, but the use of a party hat will almost always ensure this does not happen.  If you are more concerned about the possibility of contracting something then punting is NOT for you.  This is not a problem, just a life choice!

I've never had any problems from visible STDs.  If a girl has an STD that you can see I figure you can safely work around it.    I did once get a blister on the tip of my tongue after rimming a 141 walkup girl but she had a hairy anus and didn't wipe much.     So other than that it's been no problem . . . except for the time I had a girl with a fishy smelling vagina; I didn't want to put my dick in there so I finger banged her and she was happy.  Trouble was it took two weeks for the smell to wear off my hand and every dog in the street kept coming up and trying to lick me.   The rash went away in about 5 days, but the smell lasted 2 weeks.  So other than those two times I've never had a problem.  Well, if you don't count the anal warts from the poison dragon drill I tried, but that was just once and those can be burned off.

I did get a couple of oozing chancres on my left ass cheek a couple years back, but I don't know who I got them from so they don't count, and that one time with the tranny doesn't count either because, well, as all straight guys know, trannies don't count if you're really wasted.    And of course I did get gonorrhea once (who hasn't?   ) but I'm sure that was from my own HJ (used the same hand with the stinky pussy on it) so that's clearly my own fault and doesn't count.

if your cautious and always wear protection, i dont think that STD issue will bother you that much unless you wana risk doin it LIVEWIRE.

Punting is well, punting, you're taking a risk as to the quality of the experience you will have and also if your WL has something that you can and do catch. Not much is fool proof in this regard unless you go covered for all activities & don't go touching anything moist!
But hey, where's the fun in that. Best course of action IMHO is to come prepared and have a routine. Such things as bring mouthwash and use it, offer it to your girl, BYO condoms, use hand sanitizer and wipes where practical to do so. You will feel more comfortable even if these measures don't reduce your risk much. Lastly your WL will feel good about you caring about your health & implied concern for her health. Remember the girls take a bunch more risks than us punters.

I was wondering about the whole listerine thing. besides helping with bad breath, does using it help with other things? it seems that ppl think it protects against everything, but i have not read anything for that to be a fact.

Actually that is quite funny.  I have always used Listerine on everything after having a session with a WG in my hotel room.  Gargle, splash it on my face area and yes even on L.B. I have remained clean so far, so who knows.  Also a preventatvie Z-pack is good for guys that are worried about bringing something home to their S.O.
