I have 3 friends who got duped this way. But one friend for whom it worked. So better safe than sorry. There are tons of punts you can have that are safe. Don't be a sucker for girls of a particular race. The scammers use this weakness to make money.

Right click on the image in Chrome browser and search for image, or navigate to images.google.com and upload the image to perform a reverse search on internet. Fraudsters usually pickup the images from internet to share. Even with all confirmed, do a video call before heading to a place.
