Rainbow Spa vs Oriental Spa (AutoPlaza)

Long-time lurker. I thought I could post in the Sauna forum, but looks like I am still a newbie!

I thought now is a good time to compare and contrast two of the last great spas in TST East - Rainbow Spa and Oriental Spa. Even though Oriental Spa is only about five years old, they don't really make them like this anymore. So here are some thoughts about the two.

In terms of hardware, they are both pretty much the same - locker room, waiting room with optional foot massage and food choices, massage, then out. The only major difference is that Oriental Spa is newer, with a slightly luxurious feel. It also has private rooms and 'beauticians'. Rainbow on the other hand, is showing its age - though it is still quite pleasant.

When it comes to software, Rainbow Spa has never really recovered from the pandemic. While the girls there were never young, there were some great picks before COVID, and they weren't all aunties. Nowadays, the quality of girls has really gone downhill, with some surprisingly bad ones over the last couple of years. They usually complain that business is bad, and FS is always available at HK$1000, making the total damage around $2500. It seems like a place more for good memories now than anything else. I would be surprised if it is still there in three or four years.

Oriental Spa in Autoplaza however, looks like it is doing alright, as it always seems quite busy. The massage girls are younger than at Rainbow: late 20s to early 30s, with HE at around $1800 total. Beauticians are, as their names suggests, the prettier, option, but one that comes at a cost (around $2000 for just 60 mins). Although I've read that FS is possible, I've never managed to unlock it. Nothing to do with money, more that the girls act as if it is very verboten, even in the VIP rooms. Am I doing something wrong?

Anyway, I thought there should be a post highlighting these two places, which I think are a dying breed. They are pricier than other options, but worth visiting at least once, especially Oriental Spa.

There used to be a decade-long thread on Xocat forum, which was regularly updated about info about Rainbow. That died a few years ago, but perhaps the mods can put this post in the Sauna section so that we can try to recreate that mega-thread for these old-school spas...

I always feel Oriental Spa replaced VIP Spa at the same Auto Plaza on 13/F. FA is avavailable at OSS but at a cost. I think Oriental Palm Spring in CWB is similar with private rooms and FS in these rooms.
