I've been in Costa Rica for a month, working here for another month before I get back to Hong Kong.


With my Spanish being at its beginner stage and most Latinas not speaking English the dating scene isn't as effective as in Asia.

I thought I'd give mongering a shot, most women here are my type (body-wise)

I reached out to a few brothers here and one of them gave some intel which was to head to Jaco on the weekends.

I tried to find stuff/info online the typical websites don't have much going on here (Massage Republic etc) found a website called Skokka, which looked sketchy from the get-go, decided to give it a shot anyway.

Messaged a bunch of numbers and realised that I was chatting with probably an agent who is using different numbers as individual girls and then forgot to match the pictures they're sending me and the link they have advertised hahaha.

Caught the scam and told them and of course, there was no response, however, after a bit, I got a message from an unknown number that was threatening me to give them money or they would kill me and my family through a Dominican Republic number (I asked them to fuck off and blocked) got messaged by 3 more such numbers and the same thing happened (they even sent me a video of these gangster with guns) anyway after the 3rd one it stopped.

I continued chatting with some other contacts I got off SKOKKA and one seemed genuine, I booked a place and did everything I could to ensure this seemed genuine except for a video call.

The day arrived and I was to go pick her up from her said location and then head to the place I booked (180 HKD a night) she expected me to arrive in a taxi instead I walked to surprise her in case I was being scammed.

Arrived in front of the door and waited she asked what I was wearing I told her to peep outside so she could see, she managed to see me without me seeing her and then confirmed she saw me, I waited for another 2 minutes and saw this random woman walk towards me who didn't look anything like in the picture and was UGLY!!!
Hairy hands, ugly face not a tight body fat contained by tight jeans not thick, curvy in proportion just UGLY.

She greeted me and I was shocked at how she was completely a different person, I showed her the picture and told her it wasn't her she tried to counter by saying that was her from 2 months ago and she changed the colour of her hair, I told her I don't care and that she isn't someone I would sleep with at all, she asked I didn't think she was pretty and I said NO! she said forget what I look like and trust the service I said I think she's unattractive and left she tried to ask me to stop and was texting her boyfriend tell him about the situation (I could see her type to her BEBE) I told her I'm off and I walked away from the neighbourhood.

She called me from a different number I rejected the call, she then messaged and said she was the one I met and sent a disappearing photo of her naked (UGLY) and asked me if I changed my mind, I said no and blocked both the numbers.

I don't think I will meet anyone off any websites anymore, maybe find street WG's, any tips appreciated.

Guys be careful here theft and things like this is common here and don't get sucked into these scams and traps, if you do walk away don't hesitate (unless you're at gun point)


Mongering here has been hard and Dates with locals haven't been great either (communication gap) I will be here for another month and hope to get some local action (good)


I will be in Los Angeles airport for a looong layover any intel for a quickie nearby?
