I took a short trip to SEA last October. I spent 4 days in Bangkok, 1 week in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), and 3 days in Singapore. It was my first time in Vietnam and Singapore, but I have been to Thailand many times.

I arrived in HCMC on a Friday evening on the eve of Halloween, went through a horrendous evening rush hour traffic, and got to my hotel around 8pm. My 2 wingmen were waiting for me at the Harmony Saigon hotel. Armed with intel from various forums, we hit the road running.

Alas, disappointment quickly set in. It was first time mongering in HCMC for all 3 of us. One of the wingman, thought he had the better intel, so the order of the day became: follow the leader. His intel said to go to Number 5 bar, on Pasteur St. We arrived there and quickly realized this was a hostess bar. They had beautiful girls working there, but they were not available for takeout, only for local entertainment. Although the girls looked stunning to these horny mongers, they turned us down one by one. Finally, the lady owner/manager, feeling sorry for us, suggested we visit these other bars not too far. They had names like Rock Hard and Jungle Bar. We decided to grab a bite first at this restaurant next door, owned and operated by an expat from the US. He confirmed that's where the action was. Unfortunately, we soon found out it was not the case at all, at least not for us.

By now, my buddy’s intel was exhausted, so here comes my intel to the rescue. It was about 11pm, perfect for Apocalypse, a local club disco. Thank God the taxis are dirt cheap in HCMC, and I found out later that Uber works fine there and is even cheaper. We got there and the place was empty. However, soon the crowd started showing up. By this time, it was almost bed time for these old farts, as we were tired from the travel. However, we did see the potential for Apocalypse, but it was also Halloween weekend and the large crowd was rather on the younger side.

The next day, it was time for another approach. I am a big sucker for eye candy, hence I tend to gravitate towards high end places. One of my wingman and I decided to try little Tokyo, in particular Tokyo SPA. Having read so many good things about this place. One of the report said that the girls are eye candy, the service superior, but that it was costly. Our assessment was that only the last statement was true, for the time we were there. The 3 girls we saw around 4pm were rather GND, and the service was rather inferior, IMO. My girl could not blow shit, and I could perform a better HJ than her.

By now, it was desperation time, and I decided to reach out to a local fellow monger. Unfortunately, our schedules did not align very well, and by the time he responded to my plea for help, I had resolved my biggest issue, where to find FS. For me, BJ and HJ just don't do it. I need the poon, and we finally found it in BV (Bui Vien) street, in District 1. Now, we were content and I wished that we had picked a hotel in that area. Not a problem, as soon as my initial reservation, at Harmony Saigon, ran out, I moved there. My wingmen decided to stay put at HS.

This was Halloween weekend and BV was hopping all 3 nights, Saturday through Monday night. The street was so crowded and jammed that we could not walk anywhere. Everything stopped, it was crazy. Thank God there was not a stampede, as there were families with grandpas, grandmas, and young children. In the meantime, we camped at our drinking fountain. There were a couple of bars (Bar 157, 159, and Crazy Girls) with enough FLs (Free Lancers) to satisfy 3 poon-hungry amigos. Granted, it was expensive for a quickie, at 2M VND (roughly $100) a session plus drinks/barfine, but better than nothing.

We also enjoyed getting a daily massage from young, beautiful Viet girls, a legit massage but nonetheless, quite erotic, and reasonably priced (VIP at $30 for 2 hours).

One night, we had dinner at this Vietnamese restaurant at a BV cross street. Towards the end, a fast talking young Viet teenager brought 3 of their servers at our table and started the negotiations. Never mind that this restaurant had only 3 female servers that night. In trying to decipher his offer, we concluded that he wanted 2M barfine and 2.5M per session, for each girl. We started laughing, then he changed his story and offered the girls for 1M each, but only for 10 min. We paid our dinner bill, the bill for the girls drink and left empty handed.

A few observations:
It appears that the Vietnamese society is fairly conservative, and as a result mongering activities seem to require quite a bit of discretion. That was quite a surprise to us. As a result, we could see FLs walking on the street but we could not approach them easily or they simply ignored us. Language was definitely a big handicap, despite my shitty iPhone translation apps. Also, there was a clear bias against older mongers. Working girls were happy to help us spend our money, and they were trying to overcharge us for everything but some of them did not appear willing to deliver. And, folks were trying to scam us everywhere, girls and man alike, so we were on our guards the whole time.  I have a few pics below
