I’ve never had this issue until the past 18 months. Feels as though everything has changed, which in fact it has.
I think there’s a hardwired bias that has been ingrained into them. As much as the West can be “anti China” I’m sure that in the mainland there’s lots of “anti-West.”
When I reflect back on my own upbringing in a western country, and how I first related to different ethnic groups, I’m embarrassed. At the time I always thought I was mature and “neutral”. After years in Asia I can now see what I couldn’t before. I’m sure there are similar biases with MC girls. In my experience this is new post-pandemic. | |
