I haven't tried any of the Japanese girls. But I believe most are probably young girls looking to make quick cash in the US due to the favorable exchange rate. Some may have done a video at one point, so technically it's JAV? But it's not like legends or veteran actresses are coming to the bay. They have better things to do in Japan. This year in Tokyo I've met more than one young girl at THC or a deriheru who said she worked or will work in the US for a few weeks this year. They're just regular girls, some pretty and some average.
