motivation for location dissembling in USA escort ad copy?
not infrequently when reading random (USA) escort ads, i notice that they are posted under one location X, but in the actual ad copy they mention that they are in a different location Y (in which location Y is a significant distance away from location X).
I have seen this so often that I have almost internalized an imagined excuse for this being that there is some quirky legal advantage to dissembling the actual location.
however, an alternate conjecture could be that the escort is setting up a prospective client for an advance deposit followed by a no-show, and if the escort is ever caught red-handed by a client who was thus burned, the handy excuse would be that he/she misinterpreted the ad as being for one of the locations when it was actually for the other.
a third (imho more distant) possibility is that the escort (or agency, or pimp) came up with the ad copy while in one location, and then moved the escort to a second location, but forgot to update the ad copy. i consider this possibility more distant because it is so easy to correct and also leaving the dissembling would presumably would confuse or arouse suspicion among some customers to the degree that some business would be lost.
anyway, anyone know what the real story is behind this dissembling? it can be irritating to see if the escort seems to check out OK otherwise.
