Time and budget are important. Shophouse places have lower rates than specific nuru joints or posh-interior establishments like Daisy Dream. Generally speaking, Bangkok offers good value for money across the spectrum so don't fret too much over this, focus on getting a lineup and finding a technician who suits your personal taste. Will you accept a friendly girl who's a bit thicc or curvy? Are A-levels important to you? Tattoos: yea, nay, don't care?

Not a dumb question. Depends on you. If you want a best practice, bring a pack with individually wrapped items, think Japanese-style, give it to the mamasan and indicate it's for all the girls, she'll take care of it. Then when in the room, give your companion another, smaller item. You can buy Japanese chocolate at a supermarket, just get a bar or something. Chocolate always works and the Japanese stuff is exotic--you score points right away.
Any snack is better than no snack.
