Is it ever ok to walkout in case of a B&S or red flags?

Good afternoon brothers,

As I thought back to last week when I had the terrible bait and switch experience with a CORG, a thought came to me that yes, I should've just left, but I was too scared to cold-heartedly say no and get into trouble with the PO. However, I was wondering if in general, whether it is a B&S or red flags surfacing around the provider or the location, is it ever ok to just leave? I know it's insanely rude to cancel your appointment last-second and that you'd be blacklisted in a heartbeat, but if the negative signs are there, would it be better to get out there after you enter the door or would I be screwed out of my money, especially after I meet the provider in-person and all that?

Thanks and happy mongering!
