My guess (I was not in the room  ) is that maybe ...really maybe...it was too upfront
...while waiting a bit for her to do her show ...and get self-excited, it would have been easier.
Just an educated guess.
The fact she used the "no cap onsite" ...not like "whoaaa, who do you think I am?" ...is a clear invitation.

Next time, bring some caps, ask for her (so that she feels special) and that should be smooth.
