Bangkok - Post Covid Lockdown
This is a brief summary of some places I’ve ventured since the openings of red lights districts in Bangkok. If/When I’m not so busy I may post more specifics.
Nana
- Majority of the freelancers I’ve glanced at were well below my tolerance to take at any price, therefore never bothered asking how much.
- 60% of the agogos open. Very few patrons. Wait staff and Mamasan’s weren’t as pushy for drinks as before. Kinda nice because you can just sit and chill. If you want someone they’re quick to help. I think the smart one realize there’s no influx of new money and every patron is valued.
- quite a few young new faces, but many of them looked bored, and some unhappy. I’d only buy drinks for girls who make active effort and are fun.
- Barfines vary from 700-1000ST and 1100-1400LT depending on the bar. Girl prices were 2000ST, 3000LT when negotiated. If anyone has gotten cheaper please feel free to share.
- drink prices were about the same I think as pre-covid (not sure).
Soi 7 New Beer Complex
- maybe a dozen or so bars around here now with 5-10 girls in each.
- girls of varying quality. Some 7s, few 8s, no 9s and up to me, lots I would not consider, but generally friendly laid back environment.
- girls didn’t push for drinks at all which was a nice change.
- not many patrons.
Soi 7/1
- this area is real sad, it wasn’t ever the best place to go in my experience and even worse now with less ladies, no lookers and their attitude is about the same (was lukewarm before).
- did a flyby since it’s nearby, but nothing worth mentioning (chrome and wood bar were open before, but last night closed)
- zero customers (I think for good reason), besides one really old unhappy looking geezer milking his beer.
Thermae
- some nice lookers on the left.
- atmosphere of this place I’ve felt has always been a little strange. Like those high school dances with girls lined up on the side.
- most girls will smile if you look at them, but as usual wait for you to approach. Not really my cup of tea.
- most of the customers were Japanese salarymen by the dress. Ratio 15:1 girls to men.
Asok
- duangporn’s haven (think that’s the bj bars name) ladies all older and not my type.
- they were friendly, but did not inquire as to rates or discounts.
Cowboy
- cowboy is about 50% open I think.
- very few customers
- ladies not as agreesively grabbing you as before. Maybe because of covid and police presence at both ends of the street, but I can’t say for sure.
- only checked out crazy house as the bars in cowboy didn’t see anything worthwhile outside their bars.
- crazy house was ok. No headtax at door. I find crazy house in the past is very hit and miss. Sometimes you have mad fun inside and girls are very active, other times the entire staff’s attitude is trash and greedy. Post covid it seemed decent. Not pushy, no padding of the bill, some decent naked bodies.
Soi 23
-most of the happy ending massage shops are open. I didn’t enquire about rates for more as in the past they asked retarded prices. You can probably negotiate decent deals though as there’re few to no customers.
Soi 24
- prices the same as before (so far)
- no must have girls that I saw
- better value elsewhere imho.
Soi 24/1
- some discounts 100-300 baht promotions or bargaining depending on you.
- didn’t notice many new faces. Mostly old crew pre-covid.
Soi 26
- snow white was open, but recently shuttered doors. Not sure if closed for good or what?
- Don Quixote (sp?) had a couple nice lookers, but price is same as before.
Soi 33
- 20% discounts advertised outside for almost all shops 1500 for 40 (or 60 mins, they didn’t clock watch), happy just to have a customer.
Thonglor
- Tulip, same old faces and didn’t partake.
- checked a few other shops nearby, but nothing special other than offerings small discounts or more time.
In summary I think it’s a good time to be in Thailand for the mongerer. The pandemic has affected everyone and money is tight. Service I would say is a little better than before on average, with smart girls realizing the money is in getting regular repeats and not one and done tourists. If this continues prices will probably drop as shops compete for the limited pool of customers.
Apologizes for the format, grammar and spelling errors as I’m writing this on my phone.
Hope some of you find this helpful.
