[Toronto][Canada] - Elva. Wechat Girl
So... Here's a weird one.... I'm posting this now as it's an ongoing situation and I've not yet actually seen this girl...
Using the 'People Nearby' function on Wechat, I started talking to a few girls.
The ones that ended up chatting with me, within 5-6 messages, would tell me that they are a working girl, and provide me with details of their services (costs / services / rough location).
This one girl, Elva, she starts talking to me... she doesn't mention it. She's asked a couple times if I can send her a few dollars via Wechat because she's playing this mobile game, but as I do not have a Wechat wallet account, I've never given her a dime.
We're getting to know one another, she said she lives with her brother and sister-in-law, who are really strict, and so she doesn't get out much.
After a MONTH of chatting, she randomly tells me she's now part-timing as a working girl. Her rates are quite low ($100/2hr), and I'd been chatting with her for a month, so I figure, heck.... why not.
So last week, I have a bit of time before meeting some people for dinner, so I make plans to see her.
She asks to meet at a 7/11 and asks me to buy an iTunes card for payment. She says that this is for first time only and that next time can be cash. She asks me to send her a photo of the code in the back for verification, she has to send it to 'her boss'... and asked me to give her the card after we finish our rendezvous so that she can use it to claim it from her boss. It's a bit fishy... but it's $100... so ok... I'll bite...
Then she says that she's waiting for her boss to call me to verify that I'm not a cop. I wait and I wait , and she asks a few times if he's called. After a while, she says her boss is busy and can't make the call and that I should pay $500 deposit to prove I'm not a cop.
My Spockian eyebrow starts to raise.... At this point, I've been standing around for about an hour, and I actually need to go to my dinner soon, so I say no. If she doesn't show up, I'll have given a gift to her boss, and if she does show up, she doesn't have to do anything and I'll just GIVE her the d*mned card. I'm not pissed, just need to get going.
She says she can't come see me unless I pay the deposit.
I tell her, too bad... I'm leaving then.
She apologizes left right and centre, and says ok... but implores me to KEEP the card to give to her next time and that she'll make it up to me next time. In my head, I'm like whatever.
The next day, she messages me again, asking me if I've kept the card. Tells me to keep it for when we meet so that she can claim her money, and that I won't have to pay again for HER services since we didn't meet last time. But she said her boss is adamant that I provide the $500 deposit, that she PROMISES and SWEARS up and down that it will be returned to me. I tell her that it's one thing to lose $100, it's another entirely to be scammed for $500.
She says... let's make plans... she'll pay $150 of the deposit, so my deposit will only be $350 (plus the iTunes card I still have).....
I've been pushing it off, but we still chat every day. She messages me first thing in the morning, chats with me during the day between classes (according to her), and a bit in the evening also.
So.... I'm like 50/50 on this one.
It SOUNDS like a scam.... but..... it's a hell of a long game for a few hundred bucks isn't it? She seems like a sweet girl... aside from her all of a sudden becoming a WG, everything else has been consistent. Doesn't sound like she's really making anything up... Some of y'all that are using the SD/SB sites are paying $500 for a rendezvous... and if this IS a scam... I'd be out $450. So it's not like it's ridiculous. Of course... I don't want to be scammed... but again... It's a hell of a long game for a few hundred no?
So.... what do y'all think? Scam? Maybe? Go through with it? Thoughts, insights, appreciated. Thanks
