I also don't think I have made that much of an impact in her life that would merit such a drastic action, as previously mentioned, in any major city she wouldn't be single for long.
In your world it might not be a big deal; in her world it might be. She might not be high educated and probably knows she doesn't have many opportunities in her life to get somewhere. Maybe marriage is the only viable option to her.
You might not be getting duped; but that doesn't mean she's still trying to 'hunt' you and 'get' you so she can have a better future. You slightly opened the door; she's busy kicking it in because that maybe the only hope she has.
Might have been a bad idea as well you introducing your friend & a job; the more she knows about you, the harder it will be to cast her off.
