I guess it is being checked too often in different places, but I always carry my passport with me. Just a habit.
It has kept me from complications a number of times in Europe and in Asia.
I fully understand the risk, that’s why I do the two passport system you can sign up for here in the US. One in the room and one in my pocket. | |

I haven't heard about being able to carry two passports. My backup is a passport card. |
