To be honest I could not care a less whether people call me cheap or not, not that I am 
But at the end of the day, it is my holiday and I do as I please. I remember my first trip to Pattaya with 6/7 other guys for 5 days of 'Golf' and yes we actually did play golf. All of these guys were a few years older than me and all on higher salaries, I of course could not keep of with them buying girls drinking and punting etc..
The second trip I saved my arse off all year just to be able to follow these guys and when I got there with all of this cash.. I realised I actually didn't want to be like these guys, spending 5K on drinks! JUST ON DRINKS! in every bar we went too.. I didn't insult them or disagree with it, it is their money and holiday and they have worked hard to be where they are, it is just not what I want to do with my money. Of course I buy girls drinks if I have fun and they treat me well I will tip them.
As I have said to many bros on this forum who I know, I am there to have fun with friends and chill, if I like a girl I will punt with her, but I don't go just to punt. Sure some guys spend more than others and I disagree with cheap guys who argue over 50 or 100 baht. But, if I am in Wan Chai and I feel like I am getting ripped off, whether it is 20 or 100 dollars, I would also argue, it is principal, not the amount of money. | |
