I love spending time on this forum, but I spend lesser time than I could spare only because there is only so much activity here. I think we all agree we would like to see some more (meaningful) activity here. We have had some veterans go quiet without seeing new blood step up. So we need to find ways to make the newbies more active and reward them for their activity. The RA system worked well as an incentive for me, but looks like it is not incentive enough for many who are lurking around for years. Maybe we are offering too much for free at the moment?

Maybe all pics and even links to the db should be RAed? Say all pics go RA 30 min and the links have RA 20? Idea is to have a ladder to climb where every step opens up new content. Or maybe the newbies get to see reports but only after a week? Anything that can incentive them to contribute rather than lurk.

I understand the concern around the posts being open to public, but if you like this forum and want it to thrive I think the reports themselves need to be visible to the larger public.

I personally use this handle only here and try to use always use a VPN to connect to the forum and browser is always in 'incognito' mode. That reduces the risks I am subject to with my reports being public to an acceptable level.
