@daytripper, most of us experience the esprit de l’escalier phenomenon every now and then, but you seem to be particularly prone to it! This is hardly the first time you have followed one post with another a minute or so later. Here’s a tip: You can edit the earlier post up to 6 hours later. That’s a lot of minutes. There’s a fair bit you can put in a Rating (see the one on zebra’s post), and a Rating was the perfect place for your response to jake.houston, as it would’ve let you send him a PM, which he would be likely to read even if he didn’t return to this thread.
I’m sorry if I seem to be picking on you, but I assure you there are many others who have been reminded (members like you who should know better) or educated (noobies) about forum etiquette. Notice the warning against one-liners at the top of this and other sections? It is one of just two stickies in red and was put there by a mod in response to growing exasperation among members. Many used to neg several Ks at a time, but most have given up. If no one does anything about it, this forum will end up like the Chinese one, where reports elicit several pages of one-liners 4 or 5 words long.
Does twice get negged? I am one of the few who have done so. But I couldn’t possibly monitor every post even if I wanted to. If the fact that he gets away with the odd one-liner is enough to drive people from the forum, well, I’m speechless | |
