Perspective, or lack thereof
I can't really comment as I seldom leave Asia. My perspective is limited to FKK trips in the Frankfurt area--Dr A loves to remind me that it's the pricey option, and he's right, but if I have a single day to spend in Germany I'm going to max it out. A trip to a high-end FKK is a bucket-list item for any monger. Gorgeous Romanian girls (mostly) with pornstar-level sexual skills--spend all day and have at as many as you can manage. Fabuki.
Within Asia:
China is never going to be what it was. Those great saunas where you'd get 90 minutes for anywhere from 300-600 RMB are gone. The streetwalker scene in Zhuhai was like nothing I've seen before--it too is gone. I had one of my top ten punts EVER at the "Red Rope Lounge" in Shanghai--that's been shut down. You can still get blown/laid in Chinese cities but it's not gonna be what it was.
Phnom Penh when K-11 was open (for me: 2000-2003) was unique. STs for US$5. Girls would stay overnight for US$20. The village was dusty and rusty and until you'd bathed at House 14, you didn't quite realize what mongering could be. So many tiny Vietnamese sweeties, SO MANY. Some became legendary.
From 2003-2006 or so it was still a great scene. After that it slowly devolved into wretched "hostess bars"--the Viets stopped coming, the local gals look good but it's the "nothing happened until midnight" syndrome now, meh. Some still claim interest, but I'm not one of them.
Thailand is still good. I've written my suggestions so many times I won't repeat them. Bangkok and Pattaya are fertile ground. The big change is the go-gos, which have learned to truly fleece customers. You need to keep your wits about you in Thai cities, and some scenes (like the Lao-staffed brothels in Udon Thani) are gone. At its core, Thailand is still a top destination.
Singapore has a legal district but CBJs are the norm there. Apartment-brothels staffed mostly by Thais are hit/miss but usually a good time, sometimes a great time. You have to hunt around, just avoid Orchard Towers which is best left to drunk tourists.
Hong Kong continues to be one of the most diverse and value-for-money destinations around. There are 141 walk-up girls I've seen for years--skip a few months and they don't mind. Great head, great fun, cramped quarters but that's what you get with these property prices...easy to get around, Thai and Chinese mostly, but you even find Eastern Europeans in walk-ups nowadays. A few Indonesians here and there. There is of course the DH parade on Sundays if you're into that sort of thing. The Wanchai scene if you want that.
Prices for walk-ups have not kept pace with, for example, rents. There's a lot of competition in Hong Kong, LE is typically benign, and all-in-all it's got the best scene in the region in terms of diversity and value-for-money.
Thailand may win the value-for-money prize, but it's not as safe and almost all providers are Thai. Not that this is a BAD thing, it's just the way things are.
My two cents...
